South Greene Coaching Legend Ricker Dies

Received word a little while ago that long time South Greene High School coach Larry Neal Ricker has passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. I do not have further details. May he rest in peace and may God comfort his family and the South Greene community.

I had just received a text about this, but wanted to confirm it before I posted anything...I guess I was hoping it wasn't true. My prayers are with his family. This is a very sad time.

Sad, sad news. This has to be devastating to the School and community.

 

He was obviously known as a Great Coach. He was more: He was a tremendous,

and very tough football player.

I'm so sorry to hear about Coach Ricker. My prayers go out to him and his family. He was a great teacher and coach! Also, my prayers are with Chris Ricker whom I went to high school with and his daughter and family as well.

 

No more suffering Coach! You will always be remembered at SGHS and all over the State of Tennessee!

So glad that Coach Ricker was around for his induction. He was a great coach and a fierce warrior. Even his accident couldn't hinder his love of basketball. Bet there are lots of East Tennessee coaches and players that can honestly say they learned a lesson from playing against Coach Ricker at South Greene. He will be fondly and respectfully remembered. Prayers going out to his family!
