OP is not a huge follower of baseball, but OP just returned home with the skillet slinger from a romantic dinner at the Cracker Barrell and was informed their that the Pirates baseball team upset Jasper in the district tournament putting a end to their season. Dad burnit, OP is quite happy for them younguns. OP was a thinkin how many fence jumpers where on that Jasper team?

;) Old Pirate got some info today about the game. Turns out only the Jasper folkes thought it was a upset. Them Pirate folkes knew they coulds beat them Jasper fellers when it was time to b ring home the bacon. ;) Figures they's a lot of folkes a thinking again "WHAT COULD'VE BEEN" ifin they had not been Fence Jumpers.................... ;) Leason learned...........................

My question is, How come OP not follow baseball? You one of them who thinks life revolves around that pigskin? That your year is good or bad based on the outcome of dem Pirates getting gold in December? Great game and great time of year (play-off baseball). Passion and emotions run high.

 

And finally; Was that a candle-light dinner at da Cracker Barrel? My wife and I ate there last Sunday. Nothing like a bowl of beans and cornbread. ;)

LB, Old Pirate jest don't follow basball as close with that grass a growing round the cave and that takes up way too much of OP's time. Figure to buy one of them traveling mobile homes someday and jest move away when the grass needs a cutting. ;) Recon then OP could follow them baseball youngons. OP does attempt to keep up but that grass cutting stops some fishing trips too.

It looked like a bunch of kin-folk afightin! Us Valley folk just stepped back until the dust was cleared! Oh yea, Good Luck in the next round. GO JACKETS & GO PIRATES!

Old Pirate says rumor around Harvey's is ther were crying,whaling and mashing of teeth from them ther purple clad folkes and a skillet slinger wearing purple went and slung a score book at the dugout and shouted unspeakables. :) Imagine that from a purple clad skillet slinger................................. :ph34r: Lest ways the SP folkes enjoyed the game AND side show :)

 

OP says good luck to them valley youngons until/ifin theys don't play the Pirates agin :blink:

      There's going to be more fallout from this.  It's not over.   A criminal investigation is also underway.  Additional school counselors have been fired.   As far as coach flip flops is concerned,  a lot of people knew he was flirting with disaster. He was recruiting failed athletes from other schools. Grades and discipline issues that got otherwise good athletes kicked off other area teams were playing at CHS. Grades, addresses or transfer rules be dam ed. It was just a matter of time.  It's a culture issue at the school. I've heard an assistant coach and teacher for another sports team was let go for not breaking up a fight on campus between 2 girls.  Supposedly he's only there because of coach flip flops, they're close.  That guy's kid, who's a great athlete in the school,  will probably transfer out to.  There's just so many layers to this .   I'm not sure the director of all Anderson county schools doesn't get bit by this somehow. He's the one who wanted, pushed for the principal at Clinton in the first place.  He initially denied anything had been uncovered when a local station broke the story.  He had to back track his statements.   It's ugly in Clinton right now folks.   Add in the fact that there's such a huge rivalry with ACHS across the river,  it makes it bitter for clinton fans if they say anything.  Especially given the dominance that ACHS has had over Clinton for 20+ years in  almost everything.

      I remember it happening, but I don't remember the details. I usually have headphones on so I don't hear the PA anyway. But it seems like a guy I know was doing it at one point, but he either didn't start it or didn't finish. I don't remember which.

      Kreuziger from Huntingdon has been fantastic on the mound!  I think if the Fillies can score a couple of runs tomorrow it may be all they need to capture their first ever state championship in Softball.  Great day to be a Huntingdon fan!  Baseball team has won 17 in a row and plays for State Championship tomorrow also!
