It was ugly... really really ugly. However, going into the top of the 7th the bucs had 9 1 2 coming up and it was gut check time.

Here is the play by play for the TSSAA page. in the bottom of 7th the first strike out was looking not swinging. The only called curve 3rd strive all game.

In the top of the 7th the "Peace out at second 2b to ss" below was a blown. The ball was flipped to the ss and it rolled up his forearm and out of his glove onto the ground. He never controlled it and the ump awarded the out and said he dropped it trying to take it out of his glove.

Boyd Buchanan 7th - Smith singled to shortstop. Allen singled to center

field; Smith advanced to second. Garner walked; Allen advanced to second; Smith

advanced to third. Peace pinch ran for Garner. Melton to 3b. Hurley to ss.

Replogle to p for McArthur. Odom to lf for Replogle. Crowe, M. reached on a

fielder's choice; Peace out at second 2b to ss; Allen advanced to third; Smith

scored. Crowe, M. stole second. McCalla flied out to lf, SF, RBI; Allen scored.

Crowe, A. reached on an error by ss, advanced to second on the throw; Crowe, M.

scored, unearned. Ferguson flied out to cf. 3 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 1

LOB.

Adamsville 7th - Garner to p for Peace. Chappell walked. Sinclair pinch

ran for Chappell. Hurley singled to left field; Sinclair advanced to second.

Replogle struck out swinging. Odom struck out swinging. Hammock walked; Hurley

Score by Innings R H E

-----------------------------------------

Boyd Buchanan....... 000 300 3 - 6 6 8

Adamsville.......... 210 101 0 - 5 7 3

Yes that is really 8 errors. The bucs played the worst defensive game all year and still won. On top of really poor defense we had a plate umpire that seems to have never seen a curve ball. The curve is Garners out pitch and there were at least 4 that should have been called strike three. He got one all game and it was in the 7th.

The earned run score was 2 to 1 Bucs.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
