Sounds like to me that the band director is an idiot and should be smacked for being an idiot. When ur team has the ball you dont play. If it wasnt for them you wouldnt have any lets see.... Instruments, uniforms, other teams to play for, no money to spend travelling, etc etc etc. someone go smack this guy for me kthx.

i don't think our band plays as much to distract the teams as to keep up morale. they're a good band, and mr. stepp will be the first to say they play for the fans, not the team. i agree, the singers can hit some pretty high (and annoying) notes. although the band gets pretty noisy, they're good about not playing once the ball has been snapped, kicked, punted, etc. as for the game friday, if i'm not mistaken i think if it rains too badly friday, they're going to postpone it til monday.

Do you agree with me about your band?? I hear that the director says he does not have to be quiet when Blackman is on offense.And there is NOTHING that Coach Alsup can do to shut them up!!Is that true?? It sure seemed that way to me the 4 times that I saw the Blaze in action last year. I also talked to one of the coaches that was really perturbed with the band when you played Riverdale last year.(the second time)

Are you serious? Postpone until Monday? That would only give teams, especially the coaches 4 days to prepare for the next week's game??/ I cannot believe that Coach Alsup would do that unless Blackman has no game the following Friday!!

Well I really like our band, it's very unique! Everywhere we go the fans from the other teams rave about how much they enjoy them and how good they are! With that said, yes they are very loud that's why I sit in the middle a little ways away from them! As far as the Alsup thing, I'm sure if he wanted them to stop he could achieve it! Besides that I have dealt with the band director before myself and he's a nice guy and great teacher! They've done much better this year about not playing while the ball is in play! :rolleyes:

The only reason we would play on Monday is if Friday it was lightening and storming so bad we couldn't play, then Coach Alsup and the other coach would look at what Saturday looked like weather wise then they would decide wether or not to play on Monday! The main thing is SAFETY, for everyone involved! Knowing Coach Alsup as long as it's not lightening the rain won't stop us from playing! He hates not playing on friday worse than we do! Lets hope that stupid hurricane chooses the path away from us! Keep your fingers crossed guys! :rolleyes:

Don't be to cocky, you just might get to see it soon enough! And believe me if you do it will be alot different than the last time! :D

 

Blackman REALLY doesn't want to play Riverdale again because it could be worse!!!They won't last long enough in the playoffs to get Riverdale again! AND let's see the score was 45-6 that's alot of defense!! :o

what are you TALKING about? blackman would love to see riverdale again! blackman lasted long enough last year to meet them in the playoffs, why wouldn't they again this year?

      Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.

      It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
