FRIENDSHIP CHRISTIAN @ MACON COUNTY

I had a chance a few weeks ago to talk to Sycamore head football coach Gary Halstead on the radio and he was very high on Friendship Christian's outlook for this 2010 season. He even told me that he think they have a strong chance of making of deep run in the playoffs this postseason. I am sure that Macon County is a much improved football team under coach Mark Pemberton but I just can't believe that they have gotten this good this fast. Maybe they'll suprise me but until they do I would take Friendship Christian to win 28-14.

Thank You SEVEN for clarifying my identity for TCstinger.

I can assure you TCstinger that I am not scaldeddog17. I did have the screen name "howdoitknow" last year but I lost that name when I stated the real reason as to why Mac McCurry was removed as the head football coach at Crockett County earlier this year.

I do know who scaldeddog17 and bigdaddy67 are personally and we are all 3 from Cheatham County however I can assure you and anyone else on CoachT.com that we are not the same person.

As for MY TAKE on the private schools (Goodpasture & David Lipscomb) it is my belief that both of them are tremendous football programs with great head coaches leading the way in David Martin and Glen McCadams. I feel the exact same way about the football program at Trousdale County. Coach Satterfield (both) did great things at TC and now Coach Creasy is following up their success and the rich just have continued to get richer with a pair of state titles each of the last couple of seasons.

Whatever beef any of you TC fans have with scaldeddog17 is your own business however please do not bring me into it because I have nothing but the upmost respect for programs such as Trousdale County, Smith County, Gordonsville, Friendship Christian, etc. Play who you want to play as far as I am concerned.....

I believe ya Howdy. Just trying to jab back at scaldeddog a little. That's why I apologized in advance. I should have structured my sentence as not to include your screen name. I always admit when I'm wrong. And I was wrong. No hard feelings I hope. And again, I'm sorry. I'll blame part of this on snoball. :roflolk: He's got me paranoid about posters with with multiple screen names.:roflolk: Just kidding. Nah, you're very smooth Snoball. I wish I had the wisdom and foresight you posess when I was your age. Heck, I wish I had it now at 39.

So can we quit talkin about Trousdale and start talkin about the Macon and FCS game

I believe I said that earlier. The only problem is that no one from FC is on the boards. Where's the Toothfairy? Does he only come out when you all play us? That guy's a hoot! :roflolk:

Where did Maason end up, and what's he playing? As good as he was in football, I thought his best sport was on the diamond.

He is going to be playing baseball at Vol State this year. I believe that the sky is the limit for Lee now that he will be playing one sport. He is as natural a baseball player to come through Friendship's program and that is saying something. Best hitter I have seen here is Michael Wheeler, dominate pitcher was Scott Fowler, fielder Chris Paske, but all around Lee Maasen. Hey Seven, you making the long trip up to the Bluegrass state for the whipping the Jackets will put on those basketball players.

I highly doubt it. I'm going to the SC vs. G'ville game, then probably heading to Knox. I'll be listening though. I'll definitely agree with Wheeler. He could flat out mash! Played with Fowler for one year, but really never saw him in high school. That's saying something with the arms that have came through there...Sweeny, Jamie Rodgers, and a few I don't know thats played recently. Paske the best fielder? I remember him being a good player, but don't remember him standing out like that. Where does Marshall Butler fit in?

Sweeney and Rodgers both had great arms. Rodgers was more live, but not the complete pitcher that Sweeney was in high school. Yes, Paske was an unbelieveable 3rd baseman, but usually played SS out of necessity. Butler was a good fielder, but not the athletic ability of Paske. Time is catching up with me, but did you play with Jamie at Cumberland?

I was just kidding around about Butler, but I always liked him. Jamie's last year there was the year I redshirted. I've got to know Sweeny a little through my brother. I always thought he made the wrong decision, but to each their own. We played golf earlier this summer, and I got the feeling that he wished he'd gave it a shot at Tech. Give him a few months, slap some cookies out of his hand, and I'd bet he could still get up in the mid-90's!

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
