If this is not correct, someone please chime in. Based on points for W - L - T with district games left to play:

1. Coffee Co 4 - 0 - 1 = 13 points (3 games left)

2. Cookeville 4 - 1 - 0 = 12 points (3 games left)

3. Warren Co 3 - 2 - 1 = 10 points (2 games left)

4. Cumberland Co 2 - 4 - 0 = 6 points (2 games left)

5. White Co 0 - 6 - 0 = 0 points (2 games left)

Whitey...I'm confused there's 5 teams in the district, but you are showing that some teams have played 7 district games already :? ..Are they playing each other twice?

Cookeville beat Cumberland 2-0. Coffee @ Cookeville on Tuesday for what ostensibly will be the regular season district championship.

MVM, because of the low number of teams, 6-AAA does a home and home schedule. With all of the teams being in rural areas, this really helps with the scheduling aspect. Especially up on the plateau, we don't have the luxury of having dozens of schools within a half-hour drive of us, and filling out a schedule that doesn't involve a bunch of 1:30-2 hour trips with the girls having to miss a lot of class time isn't a piece of cake.

That said, the 8-game district schedule also limits our opportunities from going outside the district to play different teams. Largely because of this, the boys' side of the district is going away from the schedule in the spring.

Cookevillesoccer, thanks for the score and the explanation to others about the double round robin system with the district.

1. Cookeville 5 - 1 - 0 = 15 points (2 games left)

2. Warren Co 4 - 2 - 1 = 13 points (1 game left)

3. Coffee Co 4 - 0 - 2 = 13 points (2 games left)

4. Cumberland Co 2 - 4 - 0 = 6 points (2 games left)

5. White Co 0 - 6 - 0 = 0 points (2 games left

The game next Tuesday night at Cookeville with Coffee County is now positioned to be a great game with both teams fighting for the regular season championship and top seeding going into the district tournament. Good luck to all teams and everyone have fun. It is an exciting time of the year!

Wish the girls would move to that too-

Thursday, Oct. 7 leaves Cookeville, White Co, Coffee Co, and Cumberland Co all playing but those games will not change the regular season standings. Congrats to Cookeville on winning the regular season district. As it is, White County will travel to Cumberland County for a play-in game to the distric tournament with the winner traveling to Cookeville to play. Coffee County can tie Warren County on points if they win Thursday night but in the head-to-head tie breaker, Warren County will still get second place. So, Coffee County will travel to Warren County for a first round game.

After having justed watched/played Warren Co. ...I must admit this WILL be a team to be dealt in the very near future. While they are quite young, they are skilled, Quick, coached up, and "ain't afraid of nothin". In another year or two, I expect some sub state or "state" sniffin from you guys.

Keep it up Warren Co. I'm always a fan of upcoming programs. :thumb:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
