District 10A

I can't remember how the district finished up last year, but know NC finished near the bottom. For this season, NC has lost their leading scorer to graduation, and their PG moved and changed schools. However, I think they win twice as many games as they did last year. A couple of Freshmen and a couple of Sophomores should lead this team. Yes, they are young, but this group will be aggressive. Should be a fun year!

Hard to see them doing much losing those two but it would be nice since they haven't made much noise in about 6 or 7 years.

Agreed. I'm just thinking they will have to rely more on teamwork this year, instead of relying on one or two players to step up every game. A couple of these Soph's have talent, but (as most Freshmen) did not show just how talented I think they really were last year. A couple of this years Freshmen (at least one of them for sure) are aggressive and have some skills. I think after Christmas, they should be coming together and be competitive in the district. Depth will certainly be a problem. No doubt. Your right, the coaches have a young team and will have to work hard. I think they've got a good group of girls though to build on!!

The two best teams in the district will definitely be McEwen & Houston Co. McEwen is the team to beat since they won the district last year, but they lost all of there starters except for there point guard, who is really talented, but they also have upcoming freshman who are stepping up, they are excellent shooters. On the other hand Houston Co. who regained all of their starters team will be very tough. They played with each other last year so there definitely going to be a strong team. They could be the team to beat. Everyone else lost most of their players so unless they have very talented new members it will come down to McEwen & Houston Co.

Houston County beat Cascade 50-45 in a HOF game last night. Saw a score from White House Heritage last night -- Was is correct?

Was it 50-14? then yes it was correct....unfortunately. WHH is young and will be trying to find themselves early in the yr. Can you say rebuilding? r e- build- ing. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
