CAK looking for game Week 5

In my opinion next years CAK will have no problem being just as good if not better than we were this year. Charley High, whether he knows it or not has already set the tempo for next year by throwing for 451 yards and really showing his leadership abillity in the Loudon game. As for loosing 4 seniors off the o line i have full confidence in Old Bradley to put a great line together to protect Charley next year. untill then...:bored:

Love your enthusiasm for the 2011 campaign, but the senior class will be sorely missed. The experience we had in the middle of the O line will take a while to replace, but we will certainly have some size and Sr. Bradley is an excellent OL coach. #12 had a great game against Loudon under tough circumstances and came through brillantly, but that was just one game. Lets see how he develops. He will be missed at FS for sure since he came around nicely but coach will only let his QB play on one side. The receiving corp should be the strength of the offense with the leading receivers this year all being sophomores. The defense only returns 2 starters, so hopefully we will get some help from the new comers and maybe coach will allow a couple of the recievers to do some double duty since they can help us in the secondary. Winning in shoot outs is stressful, so maybe we can find some help for the D next year.

I hear Gibbs called and wanted to play wk 5....seems it is a done deal (or the ink is at least starting to dry.) Bring on the "boys of fall"

I'm hearing the same thing about the Gibbs Eagles. Thats GREAT! Local team, one thats on the way up, higher classification than CAK, we've scrimmaged each other the past 2 years, makes for a nice matchup. Thanks Gibbs for stepping up and picking up Fultons slack. Looks like you did that on the field with the Falcons this year and now you're doing the same for them with scheduling. Gibbs is taking a leadership roll in their district, congratualtions!!! :thumb:

Trying to help coach with our 2011 schedule again. Thought it was finally complete after speaking with over 80 different schools. Surprise! Fulton has decommitted and now we are in a bad spot trying to fill our schedule. Week 5 was when we were supose to play the Falcons, so that is the best option. However; week 7 is our open date and we can take week 5 as an open date and play someone on week 7 if that is what works with your schedule. CAK does NOT recruit players! We have app. 417 students. We graduate 19 seniors this year, so the next couple of years could be iffy for the Warriors. Give us a try and improve your pass defense. Seriously, either PM me or call CAK at 865-690-4721 and ask for Coach Rusty Bradley. Thanks for you consideration :thumb:

I too would love to get CAK back on the schedule. Have lots of respect for the program at CAK. Always a hard fought game. :thumb:

I was really disappointed when this series didn't get renewed 2 years ago. Like you said, good hard fought games. I do know that CAK trired to keep that series going but BB had some reasons to go in another direction. Maybe on the near future we can see this series again. Congrat to the Bucs for a great season :thumb:

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
