Didn't some of the Thompson boys played during the late 50's. Obe of my favorite players and good friend, Bubba Owens played during the mid 60's.

i'll have to follow up on that wingman, not that up in yr. if'n from SC ..Scooter might have to chime in.

I'm not shur about Thompsons, but Bubba was , I think the first black player that wore the PURPLE N GOLD.

Murphy book is wrong. 1922, 1972,1990,1993,1997,1998,2005,2008,2009. Do the math..... Murf never

learned to fully utilize all his fingers. LOL Thinks the thumbs don't count.

 

That galvanized tin coffeepot from 1922 isn't recognized by the TSSAA. While they do recognize some mythical titles prior to the playoff system such as those from Chatt Central, BGA and MBA, that 1922 T.C. one isn't one of them.

The T$$AA doesn't recognize anything that doesn't pay them money. Their track record ain't all that

great at anything that doesn't benefit them.

The 1922 Championship ( way before T$$AA was born ), was voted on much as the NCAA Championship is

today. Whether T$$AA, or anyone else recognizes it or not is their choice.

TC couldn't care less. It is there, like it or not.
