Steve Springer, Performance Coach for the Toronto Blue Jays, will be at the private indoor heated hitting facility @ 1111 Waldron Rd. LaVergne, TN 37086 on Sunday January 9, 2011 @ 3:00 pm. Steve is a former Junior College player, D-1 College player, Professional Minor League player, and Major League player. He has been an amateur scout (scouting amateur players for the annual MLB June Draft) and is currently a professional scout with the Toronto Blue Jays (scouting current minor league players for possible free agent acquisitions or trades) along with being the Performance Coach for the Blue Jay organization.

His website, www.qualityatbats.com, is full of impressive testimonials. This one-day clinic is geared toward the high school/college player and the parents of hitters. If you have an advanced middle school hitter this would also be great for the parent.

Cost for the clinic is $10.00 per individual if reservation made.

Walkups on day of $15.00.

This is also a great tool for coaches. This is not teaching a certain style of hitting but it’s the mentality of the hitter before the at bat and during the at bat. To make reservations call 615-220-1091 or email to retongakyle@yahoo.com. Bring your own fold out chair if you want to sit down.

George Horton former Cal St. Fullerton Head Coach and University of Oregon Head Coach, “Every high school and college player will learn something from this CD. It helped change our program.â€

Mike Gillespie
UC Irvine and Hall of Fame Coach “Do your team a favor and get this CD and Video for every player in your program.â€

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
