The Indians football program is driving on with its off-season weight lifting program. With 83 athletes in the weight room it looks like Coach Bragg and his Staff have generated the interest in football that will help surge the team to the next level. The team has 9 starters returning on defense and the offensive side of the ball has 8 returning. The offensive line will be anchored by Seniors John Riley (6'4" 275), Chris Sanders (6'3', 260), J.T. Cole (6'4", 290), Junior Coty Blankenship (6'1", 250), and Sophomore sensation Billy Smith (6'1", 255). Average weight between the tackles is 265. Senior Jobe Smith (6'5", 235) has good speed and great hands for the TE position. The Indians also have many key skilled players returning including Sam Hudson (QB), Dillon Connor (FB), Kyree Hutchenson (WB), and Brett Hill (HB). Lost to graduation is Ty Chatman (FB), Gabe Sanchez (WR), and Bryant Jackson (TE). All were All-District selections. The entire defensive front returns along with Senior linebackers Will Bumpsus and Dillon Connor who are expected to lead the defensive effort. The secondary will see changes as Junior Derrion Reddon and Senior Neil Norfleet will take over the Safety and Rover positions. Both are ready for this challenge. Finishing 2nd in the region in points allowed the Indians defense looks to take over the number 1 spot from Camden, the region champion. Needless to say the outlook for the Indian Nation is promising. "GO INDIANS".

I look for great things out of Central this year. They have some great kids and some great coaches. Coach L as the DC, Coach Hey as the DL and Coach Bryant as DE coach will definitely get the kids ready for the season on Defense.. Coach Bragg, Coach Dawson, and Coach Thompson will have the offense ready for this up coming year. A great staff to work with. Great kids to coach. Keep working hard and great things will come.

The Indians seem to be really improving. I watched several ball games last year and thought they looked 10 times better than they did in years past. Heard they also got some transfers in from Hopkinsville? Does anyone know our schedule for this upcoming season?

Have 101 on the roster as of now. I'm sure several will drop by the season, but kids are working hard. Been averaging around 65 at winter workouts.

Non-District schedule is Clarksville Academy (A), East Robertson (H), Rossview (A), and Obien County (H). Schedule is tougher than last with CA much improved. Rossview will be a test, and Obien County was a 2nd round play-off team. The kids are working hard and many of the quote "players" and committed and leading the way for the younger kids. Should be fun!!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
