i did hear however that the lady irish have a young center/forward named volk who might give them some inside presence...they'll need it against harpeth hall's traditional trees they have under the goal...but i'm thinking the irish may beat the honeybears again in regions...state will be up for grabs. unfortunately last year none of the press gave the lady irish more respect for winning the regions against a very good hh team (the irish lost thier leading scorer and one of thier top defenders at the begining of the season...that cost them the state title)

I concur that Archie is very good. I saw her play at the JO, and she played very well there against the best of the best. She hustles and is a great shooter, the type of player you would want on your team. We mentioned here in our recap...

Look for Father Ryan to be very competitive again this year.

Kristin Archie and Tish Pilkerton are the returning starters and should lead this team, but I think this years team will be more well rounded than last years team (and they were pretty good!).

THE GIRLS FATHER RYANN TEAM SHOULD BE GOOD WITH THE SILENT BUT DEADLY FOWARD NAMED cAROLYN GRIFFIN WHO HAS A JUMPER AND LOTS OF DRIBBLES

HOPEFULLY CATCHIE HAS IMPROVED IN THE POST. SHE IS A 6 FOOT 3 CENTER BUT HAS A TENDINCEY TO BE SOFT IN THE PAINT LOOK FOR HER TO IMPROVE AND GO IRISH

While Pilkerton and Archie will be the go-to players and leading scorers, the rest of the team will have to contribute too. Hampel and Volk will contribute in the post, but junior players like Allie Graves and Stephanie Smiley will have to step up as well. Father Ryan should get far this year and be a tough team to beat.

this years team should be good. they have a lot of talent. seniors archie, pilkerton, hampel, and mullins should be strong leaders...along with juniors graves and smiley, and soph volk. GOOD LUCK GIRLS! MAKE IT PAST SECTIONALS THIS YEAR!
