I saw FCS play last year and they were really big. Who do they have that returned or did they lose alot?

This team isn't last years team by any stretch. They have a couple new recruits in that have helped but they aren't as big as they were last year. They are a quality team though very athletic and will be a tough team to beat come tourney time.

Do you think they will come out of your region with Jackson or will Jackson and Clay be the teams?

midtensportsfan, you just love accusing FC of recruiting don't you?

Its a known and proven fact. There aint that many good athletes around that little farm area where that school is located at year after year. Ya'll got kids from all over you people try to deny it year after year. FCS is competitive in every sport finishing close to the top in their district and region just about every year. So lets get off the subject you recruit we all know it and thats why we love beating you so much and pulling for anyone that does. :popcorneater:

Proven fact? where is your proof in all that? it sounded like a bunch of your opinions. the only true statement was that FC does good in every sport year after year.

Most teams are about even and anyone could come out of the region. Last year for example there wasn't 1 district championship team from either district playing in the region championship. This year the power has switched between a few of the teams, but the overall strenth of the teams have not changed this year. Whoever comes out of the region will get put out if they go play CSAS. Whoever hosts the region game from up here will get to the state tournament, but if they play any of the top 5 teams in the first round they will get beat easily by double digit points...

Who are our TWO new recruits Mr Jax Co?

We lost 4 senior starters from last year. Hill #11 is the only starter back and he is a senior. Neal #23 took a year off last year because he didn't like the way the former coach ran things. He is the only other senior on the team. Other starters are jr's in Patterson #5, Hutchsion #21, and Sandoval #22. Then there's about 3-4 other jr's that play..........

We play as a team don't count on one player to carry us. thumb[1].gif

I'm looking forward to playing Pickett Co Friday (had a good 2 pt game at their place early in the season) and Clay Co Saturday night at their place. First time we played Clay Co we had our point guard (Patterson) in a sling with a shoulder injury and our shooting guard (Hill) out with high ankle sprain.......not saying we will win this time but we will be at full strength if someone doesn't get hurt before then.

And one other thing........Birdwell will NOT hit 8 three pointers again in this game.........

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
