Tourney Time for Region 4A

Jackson County and Clarkrange seem to be doing their usual and Coach Sims has Clay Co. peeking at the right time. RBS appears to be head and shoulders above everyone in District 8 but are they as good as their old district counterparts? Does Clay Co. have what it takes to get to the 'Boro and possibly bring home a ball? Should be some exciting action leading into March.

There isn't a team in 8a, besides, RBS that can come with in 20 points of any team in 7a when they are playing good. RBS will meet either Pickett County or Monterey in the first round of the regions so it's going to basically come down to Clay, RBS, Jackson, and Clarkrange as the final 4 teams in the region tournament. Talent wise Clarkrange, Clay, and RBS are all about even in that category and Jackson County is just a hair bit more talented than those 3. It will be a final 4 noone wants to miss!

JC will have everyone back which is good and C'range is always good, and RBS is a tough tourney opponet, but the way Clay is playing I give them the edge to play JC in district and region final. Opinions are like elbows everyone has them and anyone can get upset.

I think this Clay Co. - Clarkrange game is gonna be huge in deciding which of these teams goes to state. Getting in the bracket opposite JC is definitely the easiest road and the last time Clay Co. met RBS, they laid an absolute beatdown on them. Hopefully, the 3rd time will be the charm, and the Lady Dawgs can get Coach Sims to another district championship.

RBS has played awful on the road all year, if they play Clay County again it will be a much closer game...

Clay Co., Clarkrange, and Jackson Co. started tourney play tonight and they didn't disappoint. JC got out to a 20-0 lead and though Pickett Co. played okay after that, they couldn't overcome that lead. Clay Co. and Clarkrange was a barn burner but in the end, Clarkrange's post game allowed them to get some open 3's in the 4th quarter and that was Clay Co.'s undoing. Sidney Roach played out of her mind to keep Clay in it til the very end, but her best wouldn't be enough on this night. Clay and Pickett will match up in the consolation game and JC and Clarkrange will play for 7A gold. Should be a solid night of ball to decide region tournament placements.
