Wow Yankee Southside gave Liberty all they want. How is the" Leeland Robinson" kid from South Side?? I attended the AAA games down here and they both came down to the wire. Coach Hennings almost pulled one off

Leeland Robbison is a good player. Probably end up at Jackson State like most of Coach Fullers better players have. He was in foul trouble and fouled out in the 4th just like K Anothony and Barnett from Liberty.

Who you got in the Melrose WS game?

I saw East Lit beat CPA last night pretty easy. So is CPA out now?

Yep. Bounced! This game looked like a layup drill with neither team getting back and playing much defense. I say "much defense" but CPA played NO defense. Maybe Coach Maddox's 2011/2012 recruiting class will be able to get it done since this year's couldnt. LOL! East Lit is a contender. They have three solid guards and 3 bulls in the post. They play Sycamore (25-6), who bounced Maplewood last night, tomorrow at 7pm at Vol State. Should be a good one.

The youth bit CPA last night. They will be back next year. Along with Lindsay and Bradshaw, the Allsmiller kid is very good. Marshall Co. Is the real deal. Why is it that when a team has a great player that scores everybody calls them a "one man team"? Liberty has a great player but they are a more complete team? Liberty barely beat mc at bolivar central this year. On a phantom call with like one second on the clock. MC also played a brutal schedule liberty, bolivar, Livingston, tourney of champions in Illinois, Huntsville Lee, not to mention 3 games with spring hill and two with Giles. Have no car in the race but think Mc deserves a little respect. Although they can earn it in the 'boro.

Liberty Vs Bolivar for the Region Championship.

Bolivar more or less did what they wanted to against Fayette Ware.

Liberty is lucky to win. Jackson SS missed FT's and Turnover in the last minute cost them the game. Jackson SS had a two point lead under a minute and at the FT Line, missed both...Liberty goes down and hits a three to take a one point leads. Both teams had another Turnover but neither mattered.....Jackson SS actually had the ball with 7 or 8 seconds with a chance to win but turned the ball over...of course you still have to make the shot if you don't turn the ball over.

Liberty's top two players fouled out in the 4th...Jackson SS top player fouled out in the 4th.

Liberty was very lucky to come away with that win; with that being said, I think they should beat Bolivar. All Liberty has to do is apply pressure to the ball and Bolivar will turn it over. Liberty should be favored to win the 2A championship. Bolivar played a Fayette-Ware team without one their best players (Bass). Bolivar in that game in my eyes still didnt play well. They struggle with ball handling and will not get the big kid involved in the game #21 (Robertson I think is his name).

I respect what you are saying, you call Marshall County's schedule brutal...it was tougher than last year. Bolivar and Liberty has a brutal schedule every year. As for Liberty barely beating Marshall, that was the beginning of the year. I personally dont believe Marshall County has the tools to win a state title. They have

Some very questionable defeats. It would shock me if they win a state title. If you put Bolivar or Liberty in the District with Marshall County, they would cake walk through that district.

When Bolivar and Liberty play...it could be anyone's game. But Bolivar has beaten Liberty this season, so to act like it's impossible isn't exactly right. I'm sure both teams will show up to battle. They usually do.

Bolivar's ball handling was sloppy last night at times. No doubt. But regardless who did, or didn't, play-they still won. And the first half they weren't just winning, they were dominating with a 20 pt lead.

Either way...it's Liberty and Bolivar...so we all know it's anyone's game.

This game will now be bigger than anyone knows...just wait and see.

It's a must win!!!

Just wanted to start by saying that I appreciate the intelligent conversation on this thread. I usually don't post because most the time it is homer nonsense.

Nebuntyn you are right about the questionable loses by MC. They have been known to Drop a game they should have won. I also agree that liberty and bolivar would do very well against most of the teams in that district. That being said, you play the games on your schedule and hope you are playing good ball at the end of the year. I absolutely cannot wait for the tourney. Hopefully Mc, liberty, bolivar all make it because that will make for some very good competition. The best team will win the thing that is all that is certain.

I agree with you; it's not impossible but both teams in my eyes are different from when they played earlier this year. I believe Liberty has been consistent throughout the year. Bolivar from game to game you just don't know which team is going to show up. Based on that observation, I give the edge to Liberty. He should be an electric atmosphere and the game should be a great one as well. Again I say the Robertson kid from Bolivar will be the X-factor if the get him involved early and often

    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
