Liberty vs. East Literature

These two teams were some of my favorites to watch up here at MTSU. These were two of the toughest, mentally and physically, teams up here. East Lit loves to keep their games close, and I see this one to be no different.

East Lit up 16 to 10 end of first quarter. Not bad for the 3rd place team in 10AA!

Tied up 28 each at half.

 

Over 30 fouls called in first half. A lot of touch fouls being called. This should be an advantage to Liberty in the second half.

Liberty up 46 to 37 end of third, East Lit is going to need turn up the heat or it's over.

Anthony fouls out with 4+ minutes remaining. East Lit still missing free throws. Shooting about 50%

Liberty wins by 10. Arnold leads team in fourth quarter. East Lit missed over 20 free throws.

I said they would win by 10 plus. It would have been 20 if the refs wasn't trying to take the game.

TechLife: Great game and congratulations. Your kids really are that good. May be the quickest high school team I've ever seen in 30+ years of playing, covering and watching. Thought it was tough, physical, competitive...everything you'd want in a state championship match-up. Safe travels home with golden globe!

 

Nate: Congrats to you. You called it early. Too bad such a good team has such a self-important, negative fan on the boards. Now go gloat and maybe, just maybe, Santa will bring you a life in December.

 

As for officiating...I think we've found common ground. But it was consistently poor by one in particular, without regard to jersey color. They let the big guys beat each other to death underneath and then started calling touch fouls up front. Made no sense to me either way.
