Campbell County new coach

Recommended Posts

I've watched those two every since they played youth football for Campbell County. They should do a great job in trying to build a program at Campbell County.

Is Campbell County the only HS in the county? I've always wonder why they haven't been successful. Between Jacksboro and Campbell County they've always seemed to have some good youth football teams from time to time.

They would have some good teams if their best players would stop transferring to other schools like AC, Clinton, and Oneida!

That is the question of the decade! I would tell coach Price to head over to LaFollete and Jacksboro and explain how good they could be together. Btw, Jacksboro is easily the hardest hitting group of Middle Schoolers I have ever seen, anywhere.

Also, Oneida gets Zero transfers from Campbell Co. Zero, as in none, nada, zilch. A few from Burchfild (West Oneida) and a boy here and there from Robbins or Fairview, but none from Campbell Co or Huntsville. Other than that, they all grow up Indians.

AC is good cause those Jacksboro boys drive over highway and go to school there. I doubt any of them (either LaFollette or Jacksboro) go to Clinton. None of those kids go to Oneida. HOWEVER, I will personally drive a bus down the road to pick up some of those kids, excellent Middle school programs, Great Coaches, Double tough kids.

One of the best TE we have ever had came from Campbell Co. Joel Chapman. So dont tell me Campbell Co. doesnt lose players to other schools...cause i know for a fact they do!

I agree 100%, and that's the dilema Coach Price is in. Campbell Co. has some outstanding athletes. I've been watching their middle schools for the past 8 years. Jacksboro will knock around with any team out there. Although I have to say, the Owl from LaFollete is kinda annoying! Im just saying

Most kids go to Anderson County? Im not sure about that. Maybe Jellico, Clinton, Oliver Springs or even Scott County? Like I said, I'm not sure?

What I do know is that None transfer to Oneida. Not that there is anything wrong with that! It would be great to get some kids transfer in, but it almost never happens. The Woodards being the exception in the past 10 years or so.

So, if someone is telling you kids are transfering into Oneida from Campbell Co, that is wrong. Good luck to Coach Price, I think most of his work as a High School Coach is gonna start at the Middle Schools.

I dont know of any that have transferred to Oneida...i was just using them as an example. But i am 100% sure some have transferred to Clinton and AC.

I believe the Price brothers will bring some enthusiasm to the Campbell Co. program. Now, if they can just get the kids walking the halls to come out and play football, I believe CC might get rolling in the right direction here pretty soon!

Best of luck to em! There's definately talent to work with if they can get them boys on the field. I'm a big fan of the Jacksboro Middle School coaching staff. Excellent group of men so it's not tough for me to pull for Campbell Co.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
