  1. 1. Who will win???

Recommended Posts

It was easy to see who was ready to play from the get go. After the delay as well, CAK looked more prepared and ready to play hard. AC had 6 or 7 turnovers, I forget which. People might say that's the only reason CAK was able to win, but frankly that's just dumb. CAK was ready to got, AC looked less ready to go. The fight that occured between a few AC players after the second fumble was sad, humorous, and ridiculous all at the same time  . Josh Smith, Davis Howell, Charlie High, and the rest of the CAK offense was awesome all night long. The O line really surprised me and did an awesome job. Corey Rathbone looked solid as well. The defense for CAK was better than I thought they would be as well. Looked like they got a little beat up and tired in that 3rd quarter. maybe the delay helped them recover, but it looked like CAK would have won pretty easily anyway. when AC scored their last two touchdowns, CAK had freshman at linebacker and defensive end. Anyway, GO WARRIORS!! Team looked solid tonight, and if guys stay healthy and the defensive line continues to improve and get some depth, it should be a fantastic year for the Warriors. :thumb:

Very good overall assessment, Warriors011. The defense gave up some yardage but made some great stops--kind of reminded me of the Dolphins' famous "bend but don't break" defense, which you're way too young to remember. AC's offense was very good, in spite of the turnovers. The QB had a strong arm and they had several playmaker WRs and a quick RB. They are going to put up a lot of points against a lot of teams. For our 1st defense to hold them to just 3 TDs and the fourth TD coming against kind of a mixed 1-2 string D, is quite a good showing by the D against a potent AC offense. The CAK offense looked very good and hopefully will continue to gel and get even better as the season goes along.

Wow, that was an emotionally stressful game for me last night. I was super concerned about our young pups, especially on defense, trying to coral a bunch of Mavericks that spread the field and throw the ball around as much or more as we do. I felt like if the CAK defense could manage to limit AC to 3 TD's the Warriors had a good chance of winning, and they did (last TD was against JV), but it sure wasn't pretty at times. The Warrior defense can only improve and I believe they will. #18 is an enforcer from his LB spot and the D line has some sizeable players, just not any depth. The coaches had a good game plan to help our very young and inexperienced defense. Not many offenses put the pressure on you like AC's offense can, of course CAK's offense does, but not many do. Hopefully CAK will be getting back one of their big D tackles in a few games (recovering from injury in the spring) along with another speedy and sure handed receiver we lost during a 7 vs 7 that rotates in at DB.

Very impressed with the poise shown by a young offense as well, and the CAK QB looked like a seasoned veteran. He really had control of the offense. #25 and #16 are as good of high school receivers that I've personally watched. #11 is good as well and when #5 gets back it will be an even more potent offense. I complain about the lack of ground game, but the Warriors keep winning so I'm going to be quite about that for now.

Great job Warriors, now its on to KY to take on LCS.

What a game! The Warriors prove again they can and will compete with anyone in the state. AC will be a very good football team this year, just have to hold on to that ball. Without the 5+ turnovers it could have been a different story. Congrats Warriors, keep up the good work!

For the most part I agree with what you have to say, but everybody knows there will be a more defenses that put the CAK offense in some tight spots. CAK might as well say goodbye to a 3 man rush for the rest of the season if the opponent is any good. I want to see how this team handles the adversity of playing against 2-3 kids who get after the qb. High has had 2 outstanding performances in his carreer, but I think my old, frail body could have thrown a couple TD's for how much time he had in the pocket. I will wait to give my assessment of this offense when they face a legitimate pass rushing threat. Who knows when that will be? But I guarantee you one thing, the Big Boi's from Alcoa are going to get after High, and I'm curious if he can handle the pressure.

#12 eats pressure for breakfast.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
