The Tennessean is picking Lincoln County!

LC! LC! LC!

Sweet, Maurice Patton really knows his high school football!!

Last week he picked:

Giles Co. at Lincoln Co.: Former Lincoln County Coaches Louis Thompson and John Meadows, who combined for 32 seasons and three state championships, will be recognized prior to Friday’s game. The stadium — known as “The Pit†— will be dedicated as Meadows-Thompson Stadium. The only happy Falcon, current or former, at the end of the night will likely be Giles County Coach David O’Connor, who was set to return to his alma mater as Thompson’s replacement during the offseason before reversing field. Giles Co. 27, Lincoln Co. 21

Franklin at Siegel: This isn’t one of Franklin’s more talented teams, and the Rebels still remember their last trip to Rutherford County — a 42-0 pasting at Blackman in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs last year. But if Siegel can’t get some pressure on quarterback Matt Kuivinen, another Dandy Dozen member, the Rebels can put up some big numbers. Franklin 31, Siegel 21

Hopefully he will stay on his hot streak!!

Patton is just getting warmed up. He figures that he misjudged the Falcons last week. If memory serves me correctly the Stars let the Rebels score 20 unanswered points in the 2nd half, managed to connect with an 85 yard TD pass, then let the Rebels score again! Well.... The Falcons will give their best effort for all four quarters - let's see how it ends up!! :thumb:

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
