apparently Jimmy Redovian, shortstop out of BGA, signed with Wake Forest. I am not sure if there is any truth to this because I have seen him play one time and that is all I needed to see. He is one of the worst baseball players I have seen. He has a terrible attitude as a baseball player and is not at all a good shortstop. Surely someone had to have known somebody high up on the board at Wake. Im sorry if you think Im bashing the kid, but I am only being honest.

You apparently are a better judge of baseball talent than Perfect Game. Their analysis:

Jimmy Redovian is a 2012 MIF/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Franklin, TN who attends Battle Ground Academy. Nice athletic frame, developing physical strength. Aggressive hitter, tall balanced stance, good swing mechanics, keeps his hands inside, line drive swing plane, hits through the ball well, has hitting tools. 7.07, balanced infield actions, soft hands, moves well to the ball, arm played better in the outfield but infield actions are solid. Good student.

PG Grade: 8.0

A Perfect Game grade of 8.0 indicates a definite D1 prospect. And, yes, he did sign with Wake Forest. I'm not related to him in any way, but have seen him play several times.

If you take the time to actually go watch him play it is absolutely terrible. He plays the game absolutely wrong and I do not see how any college coaches would want the attitude that he takes.

I watched him play 20-30 games this past summer. You claimed to have seen him play one game.

It is obvious that your intent IS to bash the kid so why close your post with a weak apology? I have watched the Redovian kid play for years, and while his "aggressive, in your face" style of play can rub some the wrong way, it doesn't negate the fact that he is a very good baseball player. To label him the worst player you have ever seen smacks of your personal dislike for him, not a true assessment of his ability.

In a recent article announcing their 2012 early signees, Wake Forest Head Coach had this to say about Redovian...

"Jimmy is versatile player who fits well within our system. He is a gamer who makes others around him better. He has tremendous instincts, work ethic and savvy. He is a very good athlete and plays above his skill level because of all the intangibles. He will push for a starting job immediately and is a future team captain at Wake."

I wish Redovian, and all the kids mentioned in this post the best in their college careers. It is quite an accomplishment for a young man to earn an opportunity to be a college athlete.

It is unfortunate that Jimmy's summer ball coaches had to get involved to back him up on this post. I do wish him luck at Wake Forest, as well as everyone else. I just think that Jimmy will however need more than luck. He might need a prayer. Several. I do not see him doing well at the Division I level. He cannot hit anything off-speed and unlike in high school, people in college pick up on that. Jimmy's defense is brutal, thats not DI shortstop material. Its just hard to imagine him being so highly recruited.

What is unfortunate is that you continue to bash the Redovian kid when you really know nothing about him. Next thing you are going to tell us is that he steals kid’s lunch money too.

In an attempt to get things back on topic, I believe I am correct in saying that Dathan Prewett (Spring Hill), Garrett Ring (Mt. Pleasant) and Heath Slatton (Columbia) have all signed with MTSU, Kyle Smith (Mt. Juliet) with Vanderbilt, Bryan Smith (Eagleville) with Trevecca and Austin Sistrunk(Franklin) with Lipscomb University.

For the record, I have personally seen all of these kids play multiple times over the last 5-10 years and I think they will all be very successful at the D1 level…Redovian included.

Did these guys play post 19 with Ring? I am familiar with him and think there is going to be couple more of the post 19 guys sign somewhere pretty soon

Bryan Smith played with the SR team when they went to the regionals. Ring missed out because school starting.

Dathan, Heath, and Garrett played travel ball together when they were 10 and 11. They were very successful when they were at that age.

You can see committments at http://www.perfectgame.org/College/CollegeCommitments.aspx?grad=2012. Look under Tennessee.

Jefferson County has recently signed 4 guys to the next level. Blake Ballinger RHP/outfield to Carson Newman. Jake Farr SS/RHP to Walters State. Colton Bales C/1st Chattanooga State. Casey Henshaw RHP/outfield to Chattanooga State. Congratulations to these four guys. There should be a few more from Jefferson County before all is said and done.

    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
