Bledsoe County @ Sweetwater

I was out of town when Bledsoe came south a couple weeks ago but watched the tape today. Pikeville is way overrated, can not run the ball on a good defense, 22 is just too small & 24 isn't quick enough. the QB is tough but a good safety would kill them. If Sweetwater can pass the Ball they Kill Bledsoe, if not they beat them by a score. If Seq. had any type of passing game this game could have been real nasty & I think anyone that can pass the ball will murder pikeville. Sorry Warrior Fans but the truth is the truth, I honestly could not believe after watching the game that we lost that game.

So does that mean Sequatchie is a horrible team to lose too such a "overrated team"?

I will say this real simple for you so you boys from Pikeville can understand it, "If Seq. had a QB that could throw the ball they would have beat Bledsoe by 3 td's easily" Sequatchie is down this year, real young on the line, but the next 4 or 5 years are going to get real nasty for the Warriors when we come callin'.... I honestly can not see Bledsoe beating us again for 4 or 5 years, judging from the freshman/Soph boys, what the Middle School program has now, & what the Senior Little Indians are doing to your little warriors..... Cheer now guys, it's going to be a while before you get to again...lol

Here is a little note for anyone playing Pikeville...... Throw the ball they can not stop it, they haven't all season & won't anytime they are on the field, pitiful defense up there as I thought your head coach was a defensive guy :thumb:

How can you say Sequatchie is down this year ? This team has a veteran line and about 7 of the offensive starters are seniors ? This is the best Indians team since 2000. I will agree with you the future is bright, but if you think this is a down year those boys will never live up to you expectations. Also the reason Bledsoe won is because they have a certain back who has killed us the last 3 years.

Your not even old enough to remember the 2000 team. I agree with what IndianFootball said about the passing game, I thought we should have thrown it more. Especially on first down. However, I think Eli can throw it well enough to throw the ball more in the right situations. But, this is not the best team since 2000.

Now back to the game. Bledsoe will win this game but, it will be a tough one. Bledsoe doesn't play their best when they have to travel outside the valley.

I disagree, as far as size I see it even. Sweetwater speed will be the difference. I do think this will be a good game, but I see Sweetwater winning this on by two TD's. I do think that Bledsoe will score with the passing game - Sweetwater will give them fits with the running game. Sweetwater gets stronger as the game goes on. I see it close through the half with Sweetwater pulling away late.

Looks like your wrong once again.... 20-20 at halftime but Bledsoe is pulling away in the 2nd half....

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
