  1. Shame the game got cancelled, but oh well it's not like White Co. had a good chance of giving Rhea a good game.
  2. Baylor's defense is a lot better than I expected. Baylor's front 7 just flat out controlled the line of scrimmage and with an offense like Rhea's you have to control the line of scrimmage to be successful. Rhea's defense wasn't that bad, it's just Baylor's QBs made some nice throws and the recievers made the catches. Rhea's biggest problem but should be fixable is all the personal foul and penalties in general. Also the turnovers by Rhea at key moments killed them.
  3. I don't think all men's sports should be cancelled either. Basketball for sure but I think that would be over kill to include all men's sports. They should at least look at all the sports teams men's and women's to makes sure this is not going on else where at the school. As for the hardship transfers that has been going on for years and years in Hamilton county. It was pretty well known that Jacques Smith was a transfer in from the Brainerd area. Ooltewah, East Ham, Signal and so on (all which are nice schools) all get transfers that play sports and some for academics only.
  4. I agree PA. Please let's all move on already. It's a moot point now. Knox West won. It's over.
  5. Ok so I did some research into this play in question so we can put this to bed. Found the clip on Rhea Review 11:50 of the highlight film The formation in question is an unbalanced line. Formation number 4 on this link http://assets.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/davie/1463998.html And according to this " Covered and uncovered are as follows: Any player who is on the line of scrimmage (LOS) and "inside" another player who is on the LOS is considered covered. Anyone off the LOS or on the LOS but outside of other players on the LOS is an eligible receiver. Covered players are not eligible to receive forward passes." So yes it was an illegal play, and the refs missed it. Which missed calls and bad calls happen all the time especially high school. (No surprise) Looking at the clip again 55 is the uncovered tackle. Which now thanks to the A-11 offense is now an ineligible recieving number in high school just like in the NFL. Unlike in the past if the player reported to the ref then he would be ruled eligible
  6. Can someone please post this clip from last year's playoff game? So I and others can see the play in question. At least then we can all see what y'all are talking about. But back to the actual topic of Rhea vs Soddy. It a good night for football. Soddy is going to give Rhea all they can handle this year. This is such a good rivalry and the biggest game in the Chattanooga area tonight.
  7. Probably so, but some of signals grown talent has gone back to the private schools or in the case of Skye Wilson moves across state lines. If signal's coach wise is still around after this season it's only going to get worse up there.
  8. From seeing Soddy in person looks to be about like last year good offense but the defense is not quite there but better than last year. For only seeing Walker Valley tonight at the jamboree they look ok but still probably going to be near the bottom in the region. Heard from several people say McMinn is awful and will be along year in Athens.
  9. Yes this signal team is not like past signal teams but I still think they will be alright. From what I seen from signal at the scrimmage and East Ham tonight I'll take signal by a TD. East Ham is by no means is going to run away with this game considered Rhea's JV and Freshmen teams held them to -4 yards and put up most of the 172 yds tonight.
  10. I think Sale Creek will finally get a win this year. Should have good chances against Richland Concord Tennessee Christian maybe Chatt Grace
  11. Oak Ridge and Maryville will. Ooltewah might if they can somehow beat Rhea. Rhea could but they have a killer schedule. Not to sure if anyone can in NE TN
  12. RCFan has a point. Kind of hard to argue 4-0 vs district 5 and out scoring them 177-72 in actual games
  13. He graduated but they did get a QB transfer in. I think they will have a better defense this year with a new DC Troy Boeck
  14. I think the district will play out like this Rhea 6-0 Ooltewah 5-1 Soddy 4-2 Cleveland 3-3 White McMinn WV
  15. I would probably replace Livingston with some one like Powell since they would be closer to Knoxville than Livingston. Also Knoxville could be split up a couple different ways. 4 Districts 6-7 teams per District A Northeast TN Science Hill Greeneville Sullivan South D-B Elizabethton TN High District B North Sevier Co. South Doyle Mo West Mo East Fulton Knox West District C South Alcoa Loudon Maryville Farragut Knox Catholic CAK Webb . District D West Oak Ridge Anderson Co. Clinton Campbell Co. Hardin Valley Powell.
  16. Rhea County will have their shot at DII-AA to start the season. Baylor better be ready when they go to Evensville or it will be along night and long drive back to the river. This district from top to bottom is going to be tough for the next few years to come. Anybody can win in this district but The Owls and Rhea have the best chance of making it to Cookeville.
  17. I'm not a big fan of this rule. It's going to hurt some teams more than others in particular teams that like to run the football and it will hurt defenses in general. This new rule penalizes teams for being physical. I mean if you don't give enough time to practice tackling or blocking at full speed it going hurt the game. There is a big difference between teach technique and going full speed. I guess teams will just go full contact on Tuesday and Wednesday and use Monday as a film, gameplan, and walk through.
  18. Looks like a very good tournament up in Rhea this weekend. Brainerd gets a bye in the girls bracket. http://chattanoogan.com/2014/12/17/290506/Hamilton-Heights-Headlines-Rhea-Holiday.aspx Holiday Hoops Tournament Thursday’s Schedule At Soddy-Daisy High School 4:30 – Cookeville girls vs. Baylor 6 – Cannon County girls vs. Ooltewah 7:30 – Cookeville boys vs. Berean Academy 9 – Cannon County boys vs. Soddy-Daisy At Rhea County High School 4:30 – Rhea County girls vs. Sequatchie County 6 – McMinn County boys vs. Red Bank 7:30 – McMinn County girls vs. Wilson Central 9 – Riverdale boys vs. Glenwood At Rhea Central Elementary School 6 – Sequatchie County boys vs. Rhea County Academy 7:30 – Happy Valley girls vs. Hamilton Heights 9 – Elizabethton vs. Hamilton Heights At Rhea Middle School 4:30 – Chattanooga Patriots girls vs. Red Bank 6 – Chattanooga Patriots boys vs. Rhea County 7:30 – Walker Valley girls vs. Clarkrange 9 – Walker Valley boys vs. Clarkrange
  19. ETSU does but it would take a lot of work to get it in shape to host a game. They have done a nice job upgrading the mini dome for the return of football at ETSU as far the weight room, locker rooms, and other facilities. The mini dome is basically just a giant indoor practice facility right now. Plus ETSU is getting ready to start building a very nice 12,000 seat outdoor stadium on campus.
  20. After seeing West the last two weeks, they are going to have their hands full with Hillsboro. Both West and Hillsboro have great speed so no advantage there. Minus the refs from last night West did not do a good job defending the pass of Rhea which is not exactly known for its passing game. Hillsboro from looking at things can pass it so not looking good for West. With that said I hope West brings the gold ball back to east tenn.
  21. Near the end of the 3rd. Wow is all I have to say what a comeback
