Not only does this game have implications for the playoffs (seeding and therefore matchups), in a way you can look at it as the beginning of the playoffs. This is where these two teams have a chance to show they are ready for the big dance. Win or lose, both teams need to perform well in this game to build confidence for the post-season. Of course, the winner gets more confidence, but even the loser needs to be able to come out with a feeling that they executed on the field.

Bradley does NOT see McMinn as their archrival by any means! We realize that McMinn still does for some reason, but McMinn is like number 4 or 5 on the list as far as Bradley is concerned.

It is true that this should be a great game watching these two fight it out for the championship. I think it will be tough for McMinn at Bear Stadium, but we do have two good teams matching up. Friday night will be some great football that you won't want to miss.

If McMinn is not the arch rival than who would it be? Cleveland? Dont think so....these two schools have been at each others throat for close to 80 years in every sport from football to golf.

To the game: In my opinion if McMinn can control the line of scrimmage than they win. SIMPLE...every other aspect of this game is a toss up. I have said for years when you put 16 & 17 year old kids on the field just about anything can happen and it usually does. I like the Cherokees in this one for one reason they have more play makers. It should be a classic high school football game that will have its share of BIG plays and screw ups.

McMinn 31

Bradley 30

GO TRIBE!!!

Of course it's Cleveland just ask both schools and they'll tell you it doesn't matter what sport they are playing that's thier biggest rival.

I think McMinn County still is up one the list but not above Cleveland by any stretch of the imagination now. Sorry, Tribe fans, but you guys are absolutely no higher than second on this pecking order now.

Controlling the line of scrimmage is key in most every game. And this game is no different, in that. But to say McMinn has more playmakers? Go on thinking that. :D Methinks the Bears have at least as many playmakers as McMinn.

Of course it's Bradley vs Cleveland. It always has and always will be! ESPNU Crosstown Rivals, Bradley vs Cleveland not Bradley vs McMinn....come on!

Still should be a tough game Friday night, no doubt.

It might not mean much to the newbies at Bradley, but I personally know a plethora of former Bear players ranging from 40 to 80 years old and the vast majority of them will tell you flat out that McMinn County was THE biggest rival when they played.

(edit) I might also add that Bradley hasn't been that much of a rival to McMinn either since the Bears weren't consistently very good for soooooooo many years. I'm glad Bradley finally has a good team again to make the rivalry more interesting.....bringing back the memories that made legends in their day on the gridiron in this classic that's the second oldest continuously played football game in the state.
