Will TSSAA listen to Coaches?

Using Moore rankings to pick winners, for argument's sake, no upsets. This would also add a week to the playoffs, due to 48 teams making it, just cut out week zero. With the non-district record not as important hopefully teams would have an easier time scheduling.

I don't see this making it, just one more idea being thrown about. But there is an overall wish by coaches to reduce the number of postseason classes. Without some creativity it may be hard to accomplish that.

A couple more quick thoughts, taking just four teams from a district would likely leave out some deserving #5's but that's how it was previously. Maybe this could result in bowl games returning. Some 4's would likely get smashed, but again that's how it was previously.

One thing one of the coaches in the article mentioned was right now there's virtually no idea of who you're playing so there's less preparation time. With this you could get a good idea who the top 4 would be just a few games into the season and by looking at just a couple of teams schedules be able judge about where they'd fall in the 12-team bracket. As it is now going into Friday's games some teams still have multiple possible opponents.

I don't see the tssaa going back to 5 classes because they would be losing $$$$ droping 6A. Plus this is misleading yes the coach's don't like the playoff system but I bet if you ask the same coach's about the regular season I bet they would wanna keep the current formant because of less travel. Everyone just going have to get use to this it's not going change they don't care how much everyone fuss it not going change

Less Travel? For Who? I know the premis for the new format was suppose to be based on "Less Travel" but everyone in our district and and most of the neighboring districts, travel increased. And for the top teams around in East Tennessee, it has become a scheduling nightmare trying to find games within a 2 hour travel window! When we had a 9 team Region and 5 classifications, life was so much better!

What was your former district line-up, what's the current group? Cutting back to set teams making it, 1-4, 2-3 matchups in round one, ought to make it easier to schedule as I'm positive most coaches would want good games to improve their teams.
