No need to repeat ALL the posts from last spring. As an outsider with "no dog in the hunt" this was quite easy to predict. I certainly need to watch St. Agnes play this year and look forward to seeing an offensive attack from all sides of the goal. I guess i need to go to the Hutchison game as it appears they have the second best team from the west!

Funny thing from last night - I actually heard that the BC parents were upset that SA left thier starters in so long!!! That's a good one - the Saints dont typically apply the "mercy rule".

Thanks for the update. Nice to know someone exists in Memphis besides Canes.

Hutchison was 2-12-3 last year but was competitive against a lot of good teams. Mostly had trouble scoring....'12 version of Hutchison is improved, but the next 5-6 games are going to tell a good bit. 3 tough games in the Rivals tournament and then St. Benedict and St. Agnes. Supposed to play @ Briarcrest last week, but it was when the hurricane remnants came thru for most of the day. A lot of talented young kids have helped bridge the gap a bit this year.

I would expect SBA, Hutchison, and BCS to have some good battles between each other and that along the way SAA will have a tough time with one of them at some point. However, until someone can actually beat them, they are the clear leaders of the West.

Previous post - "This was not only a replay of last year, but a preview of 2012, 2013, 2014.... St. Agnes has no competition from the west (Briarcrest, St. benedict and Hutchison) as they outscored their west counterparts 25-2 in the six conference games. I haven't looked, but suspect it is a similar situation middle/east....."

I guess I was a little off....St. Agnes won their 6 conference games by a combined score of 22-1 this year. It looks like their defense was twice as good as last year!! I heard the one goal was an "own goal" - the defender passsed it back but the keeper was asleep against the post.....

    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
