Word on the street is that the TSSAA came down hard on them. Lots of penalties and stiff fine.

It happened very quietly and could be quite far reaching.

Don't know how far reaching it could be.........

 

It was for having contact with 8th graders, which incidentally are actually zoned for FCHS. From my understanding these 8th graders rode the bus to the district tournament. The TSSAA stated if it weren't for the fact the students will more than likely end up at FCHS, the penalties could have been more severe.

 

Story was in the Winchester newspaper, but I can't find the article online.

If I remember right there were similar accusations and 8th graders with Hillary Maxwell (now Hodges) when she was at Riverdale. That story got lots of media attention where the Franklin Co. story has remained hidden. Anybody know what/if any penalties the T$$AA might have imposed?

This doesn't seem like much of a violation especially if they're zoned to go there anyway. Wasn't the Riverdale situation a pizza party type event for area middle school basketball players regardless of zone? Apologies if that is incorrect, I couldn't remember the details.
