Why does it always degrade to this argument... I mean does the whining really help you feel better about losing? The rules have not changed and probably will not change much at the reclassification either. This is the road you have to take if you want to bring home hardware. Whether you believe it is fair has no bearing. Life is not fair.

The single most important factor is proximity to good club soccer. Period. Draw 20 minute circle around BWSC, TNFC, TUSC, MSC, ERSA, Lobos, and FC Alliance, then name how many schools outside those circles have won, or even been competitive at state regardless of classification. If you name some, odds are they have kids traveling to those clubs to play.

I am a supporter of a rural public school who's teams have been knocked out of the tournament at one level or another by privates for as long as I have had a rooting interest. If there is anyone who can complain, we have earned the right... However, we schedule top competition, train year round and play select, to get better. Guess what... We are! And when we break through, it will be that much sweeter!!!! It may happen next week, or this November, or neither, or both....but our day is coming! And when it does, we will have EARNED it!!!

BDP....

Hey, how'd you get on here???

I kid.

Much respect for what you wrote.

Just curious as to what happened in the two games, especially the Kingsbury game. Any predictions for the final. How do both of the teams look?

Both teams made a mistake in the first half that cost each a goal, second half DL struggled defensively.

Playing without their center back since half-way thru the ND game.

Kingsbury is very tenacious with an excellent first touch. DL struggled with lack of depth.

DL's forward hit an amazing near post goal to give them the lead 2-1 early in second half, however Kingsbury answered.

DL pressed with numbers, but couldn't find the net on several chances.

CAK shouldn't struggle much.

Any reason why CAK shouldn't struggle much? Are they that much more superior? How did they look in their game?

Congratualtions to CAK and Kingsbury teams. It was a good game to watch. Kingsbury came within inches of scoring the equalizing goal with less than a minute left. CAK was the better team. Their depth helped them a lot. Kingsbury looked fatigued in the 2nd half. Kingsbury's starters were very good, but the bench did not provide much. That being said, CAK played a one man down and still possessed the ball in the second half.

I wish I could give kudos to all the fans, however there were many CAK fans who were exhibiting poor behavior. I never heard a referee yelled at as much as this one. I thought he officiated a good game. CAK played an aggressive style against Kingsbury. And on one occasion when a Kingsbury player went down after a huge collision, many of the fans berated him. I know Kingsbury feigned injury at times, but it was clear this kid got hit hard.

I didn't have a dog in the hunt, but I was embarrassed because of what the C in CAK stands for.

But again, kudos to the CAK soccer team. Clearly the best team won.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
