CPA at Kenwood recap

CPA beat Kenwood 35 - 20 last night in Clarksville to go to 2-0 for the season. Chase Smith ran the ball for 250 yards, had three touchdowns, two forced fumbles and an interception.

Kenwood had very good skilled players that were dangerous in the open field, but CPA controlled both lines of scrimmage most of the night. Once again, penalties hurt CPA all night long with about 13 or 14. The Lions will have to figure out the penalty problem to make the jump from a good football team to a "really" good football team.

Senior Linebacker Glenn Fleanor went down with a knee injury late in the fourth quarter. Hopefully, he can recover with a bye week coming up.

My favorite call was when Kenwood jumped offsides, then the officials walked off the five yard penalty and placed the ball down. Prior to the snap, the officials then changed their minds and said CPA drew Kenwood offsides and walked ten yards in the other direction. Sloppy is an understatement!
