Does Morristown East Make Coaching Change?

Lets look at the numbers.

3 games into his 7th season Hatcher is......

39-34 overall

4-6 in the playoffs

1-7 against rival Morristown West

2-4 against rival Jefferson County.

Pretty mediocre for a school that has as much talent as East does. What the numbers don't tell you is that he's known for letting star players do whatever they want, having awful sportsmanship (which often is reflected in his players), and repeatedly disrespecting Morristown West even after they beat him every year. If he doesn't turn this season around pretty quick i don't see how they keep him around.

Let's wait until the season is over. I think are freshman & JV teams haven't lost a game this year. So if coach hatcher or

another coach is a Morristown East next year, He will have some talent to work with. GO CANES!

I think thats the problem, JV and Freshman games are almost always decided solely on talent. I think most years he has the talent to be right up there with West, Jeff, and Sevier Co. at the top of the conference but he can never bring it all together.

The three games I have seen Mo East play in the past three years (one on tv), I witnessed just this, as motownanddown describes. I saw mouthy players and whiny coaches. Poor sports and ladies and gentlemen, that tone is set by the head coach and it trickles down. I am not as concerned about wins and losses, although I know every program wants to win games (especially against your big in town rival). Most concerning is the lack of discipline, attitude, and sportsmanship. What are the kids being taught? My two cents....

East has the best Freshman team year in and year out. When they move up to varsity is when Hatcher gets them and we see the results.
