CoachC19
And basing on schedules...they have had two mutual opponents, Gibbs and chuckey doak. Seymour beat Gibbs by 35 Grainger beat Gibbs by 40 something...but Seymour beat chuckey doak by 26 and Grainger beat them by 9 last week... TommyMan37604
Seymour is giong to lose this game. They will still finish 1 or 2 in their league. The goal is to be #1 after the tournament because Seymour does not want to see SH in the Region until the finals. SH has ended their season the past 3 yrs. CoachC19
Nobody in East Tn will beat SH, so that's obvious for anyone. What is your reasoning for tonight? Have you seen Grainger play?
CoachC19
Sounds like you might be a fan of someone else in IMAC
CoachC19
Seymour will be without their starting point guard due to illness tonight she isn't making the trip. We will see how Seymour responds...will be a few freshman handling the ball.
TommyMan37604
As predicted , Grainger big over Seymour. Don't use the PG excuse cause she would not have made a big difference. Grainger was faster, and just better tonight.
CoachC19
Actually the PG would have made a big difference. The offense opens up with her running point, and that caused players to be in spots they havent been this year. She is a shutdown defender also, who causes a lot of turnovers. Not saying Seymour would have won with her, but It would have been closer. When you have three or four freshman trying to run an offense, its going to be a struggle for anyone. Not taking anything away from Grainger, they shot it well...but Seymour was just very out of sync...this will be a different game at Seymour at the end of the year. irnhead
CoachC19, what is your prediction for the IMAC? Can district 2's best beat district 1's during region play?
CoachC19
I think Seymour finishes 1, Mo West finishes 2, Cocke Co finishes 3, and the other spots are a toss up with the exception of South Doyle at the bottom. To avoid Science Hill in an elimination game is the obvious goal, and Seymour went as 2 seed last year and beat South pretty handily at home...so other than Science Hill, I think Seymour is just as good as anyone else in that district...I think Mo West can compete with any of those teams also, other than SH. TommyMan37604
DB and Mo West will be a tell tale game for the two districts. I think the best spot this year is # 2 and # 4 in dis. 1 and 1 and 3 in dis. 2 anything other than that is certain doom at the hands of the toppers. littlerock
It's obvious that Science Hill is the best team in the region. That's not even up for debate. After that, there are a lot of teams that are about the same...Seymour, South, Mo West, Tennessee High. I'd give a slight edge to Tennessee High because they have the best player in the group in Ashlee Mitchell. All in all, I think the IMAC is weaker than I've ever seen it. I think whoever wins the league this year would have been a 4th or 5th place team in years past, even two years ago. I think most of the better teams in the area are AA, and AAA is weaker than usual. That would include Grainger, Gatlinburg-Pittman, Fulton, Elizabethton, South Greene.
bigorangefan8
I agree with your AAA predictions, but not the AA. I believe South Greene is down this year and will be lucky to make it into region.
