Well, a quick search on the computer shows that Sheffield is 6-4

They lost to

Lake Cormorant (MS) 27-6

Southwind 12-6

Horn Lake (MS) 14-0

Mitchell 14-13

They beat

Carver 54 - 6 (Carver went 1-9 this year)

Melrose 32-8 (Melrose went 0-10)

Hillcrest 42-7 (Hillcrest was 4-6)

Oakhaven 54-0 (OH was 1-9)

Memphis Northside 68-0 (Northside went 0-10)

Fairley 34-20 (Fairley was 6-5)

So, except for Fairley, the 5 other teams they beat have 6 wins between them, and Hillcrest had 4 of those.

Now Sonny Moore shows this as a 17 point edge to Covington. We'll see.

Cov by 50. 2nd half running clock, 6 min quarters again. And they won't bring 20 fans. Trezavant was the Home team tonight vs Dyersburg in Memphis(with a winning record), didn't have 50 in the stands. Save your money stay home. Wouldn't it serve the Tssaa right if all the Memphis teams won. They'd have no gate, then they'd realize these terrible teams shouldn't be in the playoffs. 4-6 teams with wins against sub .500 teams, And they call this playoffs. Sheffield will be 2nd worst team Cov has played this yr behind Hilcrest. Wonder if Sonny Moore would like to take a wager on his 17 pts.

chargers cruise to the gold ball game. clock will run contiuously 2nd qtr.

This next game should be fairly easy. After this, however, the games will get much tougher. Trezvant handled Dyersburg easily. The Trezvant - Mitchell winner would present a challenge. We won't be playing Haywood or Obion County if we advance to the third round.

BTW, Trezvant is 6 points better than Milan in the power rankings.

No doubt Covington is a great ball team, but I wouldn't say cruise to the gold ball. There are still some tough opponents to play once they win this next round. This winner of our upcoming game, White House is always a tough team, and whomever it is from east of the river is going to be as good as any team, if not better, we've got over here. I hope my Tigers make it to the championship game, but I'll be rooting for whatever team goes from the west.

I agree with you. There is no cruising in the playoffs (past the first game or two). After that, it is all blood and sweat and may the best team win.

I don't mind sneaking a peek at the possible 3rd round opponent, but I have not looked at y'alls side of the bracket yet, and I won't until we see that we are advancing to that round. Good luck to your team next week.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
