Heritage starters jumped out to a 14 7 lead tonight and then went with wholesale substitutions. LC took advantage of the loss of continuity and took the lead by the half. Heritage starters were never on the floor together for more than 2 minutes at a time for the rest of the game. LC primarily used 7 players. Heritage never got back together to play defense.

I saw several of the Heritage girls play together in spring AAU. Then saw them a few times over the summer where they seemed so in sync. I was worried they were getting ready to take over the district. What happened? I have only seen them a couple times this season but they are completely different from the team we saw this summer, especially in the post. Looks like they need to get their chemistry back. They don't really seem like they will be able to challenge Farragut, Bearden or Maryville from what I saw this week.

Coach Howard does not promote unity with his temper screaming at every player that makes a

mistake and jerking players out of the game as punishment. AAU coaches would be disciplined for this type conduct. Girls can't gain momentum and will get best by lesser teams with better coaches. My AP vote won't place Heritage very high, but not because of the talent.

I have been watching this district play for a lot of years. Coach Howard is what he is. You don't have to agree with his style or methods, but players can't use that as the excuse. When you play there, that's part of the territory. No surprises. He actually seems calmer than he did 5-8 years ago. Then again, it's not my kid he's yelling at so it is all perspective.

Very surprised that Heritage was beaten by Bearden and LC, Howard better get his act together and start coaching instead of pitching fits and pulling players off court because of one mistake, have watched him do that for years and have seen very tallented players quit by their senior year.

And you wonder why people complain that some of the better younger tallent in the county goes elsewhere to play. You know what you are getting into when you go there. You either love him or hate him. Some respond some dont. If you ever get the right mix who respond, you can go places. If you have a mix that do not...well the ship sinks, chemistry suffers and everyone starts turning. I think Heritage will be okay. These girls have played a lot of ball and will figure it out despite of coaching. And like I said before...they chose to lie in this bed. I will continue to support Heritage for the girls sake though.

Like some have alluded...cant keep starters out with no depth. You have a gift in Knight..use her. Pryor is also a weapon. They should be dominating inside.

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
