Tied for 1st: Bearden/Farragut 7-1

2nd: William Blount 5-3

Tied for 3rd: Heritage/Lenior City/Maryville 4-4

4th: Catholic 1-7

5th:West 0-8

Really thought Heritage would have been in the top 2, hoping they turn it around and climb to the top.

Someone please explain to me ho WB defeats Bearden and plays Farragut to a 9 point loss and is swept by both Heritage and WB. Loosing to M tonight 51 to 25. How can you hide all that tallent. I'm not betting on anyone come tournament time.

WB struggled at the line. Same thing happened at Alcoa Saturday night. Neither WB nor Alcoa could bust Maryville's zone. Maryville plays hard but honestly, Alcoa and WB have much more tallent. So Maryville sits in zone and hopes you are off. But in the end, you have to execute. WB and Alcoa did not. Maryville took advantage of that. I do think after watching all the County teams play numerous games this year, and throwing all scores out the window, Alcoa followed closely to Heritage have played the best this year in the County. I would go with William Blount next because of their scrappiness and potential. Still not impressed with Maryville even though they have some County wins. Layla is a player and Tilley at times but Alcoa and Heritage both go 5 deep and WB. 3 maybe 4 deep.

Don't count out Maryville, Bangash gets better every game. Although Tillie started out slow, she has caught fire and he teammates are catching with her. Having West as a coach can't hurt either.

Heritage is back to full strength and getting better every game, Heritage plays at South Doyle. You never count out any game.

Well, looks like a REALLY BAD NIGHT for the Blount County Girls tonight!

 

Everyone knew that William Blount was going to be steamrolled by Farragut (no girl on any of the Blount County teams could start for the Lady Ads).

 

But who could have predicted the Catholic and Bearden wins?

 

Maryville must have folks out sick--to lose to a terrible Catholic team.

 

And I can't imagine how a very talented Heritage team lost to Bearden--particularly after they had played them once and knew how one dimensional they are with only one decent player.

 

We had hoped that district games would get us ready to go to state this year--but it looks like we will get better games playing against out own JV. Those kids can play!

You represent your school on this message board about as well as some of your fans (parents, not students) represented it this evening at the game. At one point this evening, one of our girls took a hard spill in front of the Farragut bench, looking very much like she could be injured, and one of the Farragut fans began to cheer and laugh at our player. Behind the lady that thought it was funny to laugh at a high school student-athlete, was another woman who constantly yelled at the refs all night, and yelled specifically at our coach and our players.

 

Just as it is unfortunate for the majority of classy Farragut fans that they gain a bad reputation from the actions of a few at the game, it is the same on this message board as a result of your classless posts.

All four Blount Co teams are average at best. Knox has several teams that are better.CAK, Webb, Fulton, Farragut and Bearden will or would sweep their Blount counterparts. The Knox teams have more players that play quality travel ball during the summer.
