Perhaps, after 2016. As far as 2020, lobbying will be key. Girls softball, golf, rugby & baseball will be considered.

On a serious note, this is ridiculous. I can't believe this even happened. No one seems to know why either. I, for one, won't be watching any olympics if this goes through. I'll hold out in hope that they redact their position on this matter (for a few years)...

Type in wrestling. The good news is participation seems to be trending up steadily over the last few years. I believe the popularity of the UFC and MMA have had an effect. But what I find most interesting is the spike in participation in the early 70's. 335,000 high school kids wrestling. Could the popularity of Dan Gable and the Olympics have had something to do with this? What other explanation is there?

Sad day for wrestling. All my 8 year old can talk about now is being an Olympian after what Jordan Burroughs did last year. What does this do to our sport?
