Who's that dude with Daisy?

You don't recognize your own mother, Turdmite? It's probably because she had the hair on her back trimmed. :flower:

Also if you look close enough you can almost see the top of Glovers head in the seat to your mom's right. Just kidding, he's there but he's not tall enough for anyone to see his head. :flower:

So what's the word on why SC settled for the local? Or was he the right hire all along and it took a while to realize it? I thought Pembertoon was the best coach mentioned to be intrested. I would not have hired him with his record of job jumping. I think the Watson guy sounded like a good coach.

Coach Dickerson played football here at SC and went on to Cumberland Univ. and played there. He has been coaching here for approx. 15 years and the kids/fans really respect him. I guess he just looked to be the best for the position.

I don't think "settled" is what happened. Coach D has been a coach here 14 years, so he knows the program inside and out. He knows the kids, coaches, boosters, the good, the bad and earned his chance. Working for Maynord had to be an education for him. He can take that and put his on spin on things. Every assistant sees things they would do different from the head man. Now it's his. I think the key will be the assistants he surrounds himself with. The ones that stay and any new ones he brings in. I don't know, but money may have been a factor to some names mentioned and I don't think they wanted somebody that would be here a 2 or 3 years then jump to somewhere else. Coach D will be committed and you know what you have with him. Kind of like a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush, or the devil you know. Whoever was named coach would have a tough job following Maynord. Like him or not, he built a solid program. Let's see what Mike can do.....

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
