Good for Kilgore. I'm sure it'll be a quality staff. This is off topic, but today i went to the track and field sectionals at Hardin Valley. I didn't see hardly any boys from Powell participate in hardly anything. I would've figured Powell would've had some good athletes out there. Especially in sprints or something, but nothing at all. That surprised me a little.

Yep, it's always puzzled me a bit as to why more football players don't participate in track and field, but for whatever reason they just don't. None of the football coaches are involved in track and field, which is probably part of it, plus the off season training program for football is pretty intense. Most of the skill positions players have simply chosen to concentrate on the football S&C program and be available for spring practice.

Baseball also has several of those more skilled athletes who are also football players involved, as well.

Don't know why that has been the case, but it has just seemed to work out that way.

Yes, well Oak Ridge has always had football guys run on the track team. If anything, i think it helps them , especially with their speed for obvious reasons. Matthew Moore ran a 10.66 100 Meters today which i think is the best in the state so far this year. Malik Hardy is an up and coming Junior for us, he is real fast, too. I thought i'd see Montario Washington out there for you guys. I think it would benefit the Powell football players to run track, but that's just my opinion. I think it's good for speed training.

Montario was a senior, so it wouldn't have benefited Powell football.
