MidTN Senior All Star DII Player of the Year Finalists

These are the finalists for the Old Hickory/The Tennessean DII Senior Player of the Year in middle Tennessee

 

Matt Hissong - FRA

Brad Jerreau - JPII

Will Haynie - Brentwood Academy

Is it not a forgone conclusion that Will Haynie is not only the best player in DII but in all classifications. How many high school players in Tennessee will be drafted higher than Haynie?

Hopefully there will be more taken in to consideration than Haynie being drafted. If you look at all 3 of the stats in each players area of responsibility, any of the 3 could be considered a perfect choice. I would think that since it is called HS Player of the year, that where any of them fall in a draft or future draft shouldn't be a measurement. I am not saying that Haynie is not the best, but I do not believe where he is drafted should be a measurement of this award. It would almost be the same thing as penalizing Haynie for his team being eliminated the earliest in the playoffs of each of these nominees. If you look at the other 2 both had stellar averages and Hissong ended with a perfect 11-0 record includng a shutout in the state tourney. I am more familiar with Stone and Sheffield accomplishments and there could be a conversation about them, but all 3 of the DII look worthy of the award.
