I'm not trying to rain on your parade Scott High but the combined records of your Tennessee opponents is 0-9 (Cumberland County 0-3, Kingston 0-3 and Wartburg 0-3)  I couldn't find McCreary KY's record.  CAK has played Franklin Road 2-2, Powell 2-1, Catholic 3-0 ad Webb 1-2 (and Webb's losses are to state powers Baylor and Maryville).  I mean 4-0 is 4-0 but have you've been really tested (the Kingston game was close) compared to CAK's opponents?  And  CAK could very well be 3-1 not 1-3.  Good luck to both teams and CRB needs to play Cole Smith more (I'm a big fan of his)  I'm kidding coach.

My optimism is not really based on the level of competition Scott has faced to this point in the season. I understand this is not a "gimme" game by any stretch. If you look back a page or two my post stated basically if Scott came out, played like their hair was on fire, and caught a few breaks that they could pull an upset and that this is their best shot in a long time to grab a win over CAK. Do I think they will? I don't know. Do I think they can? Absolutely! If, and I do mean IF, CAK comes out flat or has a couple turnovers, and Scott can capitalize on them then they could get this one. Like I said earlier also, CAK may be down but they are still CAK and they're going to do what they do well. Maybe not as well as last season but still very good mind you. We're not expanding any trophy cases up this way or anything but this is a pretty talented team none the less. Miles ahead of last year IMO. Is that good enough to compete with CAK? Again, don't know but it should be better than anything they've brought to the table in recent years. I do know that in about 6 hours and 10 minutes we will start getting some answers to the questions being asked. Best of luck to both and GO HIGHLANDERS!

I'm pleasantly surprised at how CAK has performed in the first half.  #23 has made an impact coming over from the D to play receiver.  A few of our offensive series have looked very good and cohesive, then a few have been inconsistent a 3 & out.  The D is playing scrappy and living in Scotts backfield.  This is exactly what the Warriors needed.  Hopefully they can stay focused in the 2nd half and dodge any more injuries.

Congrats to the Warriors!!!  This was MUCH needed to help instill some confidence and breathe some life back into a team that was teetering on disaster.  Also, a tip of the hat to our coaching staff for getting a wounded and beleagured team back on track against an opponent that was coming in with a lot of momentum.  It was great to see everyone get some snaps tonight, that should help with motivation and practice in the coming weeks.  I do feel for the Highlanders, I've been in that position before and it is deflating.  Keep your heads up, you've still got a good season going.  :thumb:

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
