1.  Gray is buzzing with the rumor that Boone has something special cooked up for South tomorrow.   Now Boone fans don't worry, I'm not getting into specifics on a public forum, but let's just say that Boone has "rearranged" some things to prepare for South.    My good friend, Miss Crystal Ball, still says that South wins the game, but it will be a lot closer.   And let's go ahead and dispel this myth, Boone will not, repeat Not, three-peat NOT release a skunk onto the field like in this story:   http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2012/08/25/skunk-invades-sideline-at-mississippi-high-school-football-game/

2.  Don't know that I have ever seen this happen before, but it turns out that Boone has a player with the last name of South, and the Rebels have a guy with the last name of, you guessed it, Boone!   And I am not, repeat Not, three-peat NOT making this up.    Consider what happens when South is on offense:

ANNOUNCER:  Boone on the carry, tackle by South after a gain of 3, 2nd and 7 for the Rebels.

BEWILDERED FAN:  Hey Madge, whadda he just say?    He said Boone, Madge, Boone!

MADGE: Yes, Harold, we'll go soon, now just pipe down

HAROLD:  No, Madge, Boone, not soon, Boone, Madge.   Can't you hear?

MADGE:  Beer?    Harold, they don't serve beer here, now shu....

HAROLD:   Madge, look, out on the field, is that a what, a dog, a coon, no wait, ...... RUN MADGE, THAT THERES A POLECATTTTTTTTTTTTT

Hilarious. Thanks.

To add a little depth to your story, did you know your beloved coach who is good friends with the Rebel coaches and highly respected as a former coach at South is affectionately known as "skunk" ? The skunk has been painted on the field at Death Valley behind the goalpost where the Blazers  warmed up on more than one occasion . My understanding was the skunk was a playful jab, a welcome mat, and superstitious hex against the Blazers.

Of course there will be no skunk on the field at Nathan Hale unless the real thing strolls in looking for some of that Booneshine.

Regardless I expect the Blazers new scheme to stink it up. Rebels 40-0

Now that is funny, I did not know that piece of trivia!!!

Did you notice in that skunk story that one of the teams was Booneville High School?

New score for tonight, actually the score has the same numbers, just juxtaposed, Rebels win it 31-13

What, no South fans responding to this??

Expect Boone to fight hard, no different this year than in any other year.  Rebel Defense is as quick as I've seen them and will stroke you.  If Rebel offense plays within themselves, plays patiently, and does not try to make big plays when it's not there, 42-14.  QB is very talented, just needs to play within himself.  Hunter Harren and Kyle Bond (Soph and Senior) ILBs bring the leather.  Strap it on.

Go Rebels--------

What happened to all the Boone posters? Blazer1 seems to be the only one. FormerBlazer was a mainstay and Tosssweep was champion of smack. It is a sad state of affairs in the world today. My oh my how I miss the old days.

Boone is 3-1. Are the Boonies predicting a football apocalypse for their program?

Boone is 3-1 against Cherokee, Central and Volunteer, so don't read too much into it.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
