Not a bad idea to play teams that you can compete with.  Get a few wins get the kids wanting to play and you might find yourself some boys that you didn't know you had.  Some of those players that are going to Tullahoma might stay in Manchester.  What Coffee County has done in the past has proven not to work. Hire Mac McCurry for instant success.  Go watch his team play Friday night and see how its done.

I sure that Mac would be jumping up and down to leave Marion Co to come to Coffee Co.

A couple of more that would be ready to come , Charles Quarles and Gary Rankin

And who do you think that has won a state championship and would want to come to Manchester?

The answer could be just down the road... you never know. It's like this all coaches want to win the gold ball. However, if the school can provide a good supplement, maybe a car dealer provide a car for the coach during the season, a field crew, weight lifting period and minor control over the football operations, the job could turn a few heads. Why would any kid want to be part of 0-10, 2-8 teams? Winning attracts talent. I would rather play Red Boiling Springs instead of Oakland any day of the week if I had to pick. just saying. Good luck to C.C.

Didn't your former head coach work on staff with championship teams in Riverdale?  Your problem is not coaching it is typical small town politics that comes when you have bad season after bad season and there is no commitment to change the character of the people surrounding the program. It is never fair to the kids but until a group comes along with strong commitment and strong parents and admin in education and the local government, things do not change. Obviously this does not exist only in Manchester..Obviously any coach with his salt knows this and will stay far away from this job..You will need an idealist who everyone buys into because they realize they have no other choice...

Yes he coached at Riverdale.

Who you need is Lee Alkins , he is considered an expert by some to be able to rebuild programs

and make winners. Not sure where he is now.
