Question about coach hirings

I have read and read the last few days about coaching vacancies around the state. My question is why fill a position with someone who has previously been there for one and two why more people don't give the younger coaches a chance? From the many years I have watched football from Memphis to Cookeville I often wondered if some of these schools that are having down year after down year could use a little energy, passion, and new life. I guess I am asking why more people don't look to the young coaches or why they aren't given a chance more? Just Curious

Some teams need to learn how to win or how to be a team. Some of the older coaches have done that. I do have a problem with coaches coming back if they stayed at that school for a year and then left. I would say no to that.

I completely agree with you. Some teams especially the more unsuccessful ones could use the passion energy and excitement that you no coaches bring to the table. I can see if a big name program wanted a HC with experience but a team that really hasn't been successful for a while should give the younger coaches a shot.
