For the twenty-first year, Southern Champions Wrestling Camp will offer two great camps with some of the best coaches in Tennessee.  With a great coach-to-wrestler ratio you will learn effective technique and sound preparation from successful coaches, participate in spirited and competitive dual meets, and receive a free camp t-shirt and lunch each day.  Join us for this amazing opportunity.

The camps are open to full teams, partial teams, and individuals who are eager to learn moves that have optimum percentage of success at any level. 

Camps are for wrestlers entering middle school or high school in the fall of 2014. Camp cost is $125 per wrestler for pre-registration, ($140 per wrestler for day-of-registration) and includes instruction, coaching, lunch each day, and a camp T-shirt.

This is a reminder about the Southern Champions Wrestling Camp.  There will be two camps this year.  First camp in held at Houston High School (Germantown, TN) June 9, 10 and 11.  Second camp will be held at Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, TN) June 16, 17 and 18.

 

Great instructors at each camp:

 

 David James- (Univ. of Central Oklahoma) One of the finest instructors around the country has coached 12 National Champion Teams and 45 Individual National Champions.  Seven time winner of National Coach of the Year.  Memphis Camp only.

 

Walt Holmes-MC&NC- (Houston HS) Coached state and national Champions.  An excellent clinician, Member of HOF. Both camps.

 

Patrick Simpson -MC&NC- (MBA) 4 X state finalist, 3X state champion, West Point 2006, 3X EIWA Placer and NCAA Qualifier. 
US Military Champion and a member of the USA All-Army Team and 9th place finisher in World Military Championships. Both Camps

 

Brian Dunning- (Glencliff HS) Clinician in 9 states, HS All-American, Member of HOF. Nashville Camp

 

Frank Simpson - (MBA) Has coached boys at MBA to 23 state titles, 4 boys have earned High School All-American honors and 4 boys have earned College All-American honors.  A member of the HOF.  Both Camps

 

Many other coaches are on hand to help teach.

Many of these guys have forgotten more than I ever knew about wrestling over the past 30-40 years. Brian Dunning may be one of Tennessee's finest & consistent officials and earned his stripes over the past 40+ years.

 

Frank Simpson, totally a class act and goes back to the days of MTSU with his brother Pat Simpson where coach Gordon Connell coached. He even cut his teeth prior to MBA over at the once highly formidable Hendersonville HS several years ago. The others reputations goes without saying, loves the sport with a passion, Holmes a hub with Lewis in the far left and to bring David James,,, icing on the cake!
