Seeding for 1-AAA tournament

Does Tn. seed wrestlers by regional finishes? So all number ones will be seeded 1-8 and 2's 9-16 etc? Can a #2 seed from a strong region pass a week #1? Does a human or the winning % determine the order of the wrestlers among all the #1 seeds? Can a #2 regional finisher bump up to a #1 if they are a previous state qualifier or would he just be higher ranked among the #2 finishers?

Must be a region champ AND returning state placer to be separated in the bracket. Doesn't matter if 10 other wrestlers in that weight class has beat him this year. Everyone else is a random 'blind' draw.

But that would make sense. In all fairness they can't set up a bracket in any sport.

Thanks for the info guys. This makes waiting on track to release the brackets much more interesting since you can't predict seedings. Interesting way to do it.

So how do they seperate the returning placers? If a junior won the tournament and another Junior placed 5th and both win regions this year where do they fall in the bracket with the field being a blind draw?

If you have two different region champs that are both returning state placers then they will be separated on different sides of the bracket. Everyone else is a blind draw even the other region champs and/or any returning state placers that failed to win their region.
