cocheese
Surprised by that score. I figured CW would handle Lewis with no problems.
putboobieincoach
Cw Threw It Around, And Lewis Co Took Advantage. Lewis Is Good Team, Hope To See The Two Teams Play Each Other Again On Wed.
ddaddy
This was 2 fairly evenly matched teams and an exciting game that was controlled by LC. CW took advantage of early mistakes to score 5 runs in the 2nd forcing a pitching change with one out. Cody Owen took over and shut the door on a good hitting CW team until he was replaced in the 6th with the score 12-6 LC. CW had capitalized on LC mistakes to win 2 last inning victories in the previous two meetings between these teams, but that was not the case when CW made little noise in the final 2 inns. LC tacked on 3 more runs in the bottom of the 6th to make the final score 15-6. Both teams have a great chance to advance and meet again if they hold the mistakes to a minimal. Good luck to CW against Spring Hill.
cocheese
Am I missing something here? I thought this was a double elimination tournament. The loss to Lewis was their first loss, right?
ddaddy
There was a North tourney and a South tourney with the winners playing for the Championship.
cocheese
So, they had a double elimination tourney to determine the two teams to play for the title and then the title game is a one and done. That seems cheap. Oh well, good luck to both!
putboobieincoach
Yes, the title game was a one and done game.
ksgovols
The title game has always been for all the marbles regardless of previous losses. Post season is about regions and beyond, not district tournament and pitching is at a premium. Most teams have to ride that stud arm as far as it will take them in Tennessee's screwed up system. 31ballfan
It looks like Lewis County lost 14-4 and Creekwood lost 7-3.
ksgovols
It looks like Lewis County lost 14-4 and Creekwood lost 7-3. Yep. Lewis didn't get far enough away from 12AA it looks like.
takeahack
Yep. Lewis didn't get far enough away from 12AA it looks like. You may be correct but losing to CPA and Spring Hill is not a bad feat. Would not surprise me for both of those teams to make it to the 'Boro. Spring Hill is playing well, they swing it and play solid defense. May not have have as much pitching as they have in the past but a solid rotation. Lamm does a good job. As for CPA, Coach Nesbitt has them playing well. They swing the bat and once they get on they put a lot of pressure on your defense with extrememly aggresive baserunning. 2 very good teams, as were Lewis County and Creek Wood. Think any of those 4 good have made a run to State on the right nights.
