WestTNbballFan
Typical preseason scrimmage. Neither team was able to put together any kind of substantial drive. Touchdowns scored off broken coverage, missed tackles and turnovers. I believe Westview Varsity won 23-18. Chester Co did have a couple big plays called back due to penalties and Westview capitalized on them forcing turnovers. Westview's special teams were much better. They won the battle of field position with superior punting and made all 3 extra points. Chester Co struggled to get punts and extra points off due to bad snaps. One botched punt led to a safety. Both teams scored 3 TD's but Westview converted their extra points and forced a safety to make up the scoring difference I think the Chester Co JV shut out Westview JV squad. Chester Co has some very impressive looking Freshman athletes.
WHSChargerFanatic
Didn't look too good. Scrimmages and Jamborees don't give any indication on how a team will be. We need to shore up the line and the playmakers will do their thing. CC has a good group of young ones and will do some damage down the road. We have lost a lot of lineman for injuries, quitting, or laziness. We are overrated to be ranked that high in preseason, but we always finish stronger. ScreaminEagle
Pulled these stats off of Hudl from the scrimmage: Chester Co Rushing: 25 Carries 177 Yards 2 TD's (133 of these yards came off 2 Carries) Passing: 5 of 11 for 154 Yards 2 TD's 1 INT Westview Rushing: 21 Carries 67 Yards 2 TD's (44 of these yards came off 2 Carries) Passing: 2 of 10 for 22 Yards 1 TD 1 INT Liked the big plays from Chester Co but they must be more consistent on offense and cant turn the ball over. Had turnovers on their own 35, 15, 28 and 12 Yardline that led to 3 TD's. That will get you beat. Defense played very well. ScreaminEagle
looks like t CC will have to live of the big play. Its a good thing they have a defenseI really don't care if it's on drives or big plays if the offense is scoring a TD on average every 9 plays!!!
