Dyer County Football Coaching Opening

Dyer County has announced they have fired Barry Kendall. I would of thought if they were going to do it, they would of done it a lot earlier. This is a tough business, good luck to him and his family. Dyersburg might pick him up as an assistant, if not Obion County. 

 

Any ideas on possible replacements?

You shouldn't be surprised. The Dyer Co people (not Dyersburg) have never really supported their football team. Baseball and basketball come first.

How deep will they cut...If change is for the best for the program then the head coach is not the only cut that needs to be done...If they promote from with in then they should have keep the head coach......

I hate this for him, I honestly do! He is good man with a kind heart! I just hope they're smart on picking the next coach and turn around the football program. It is much needed.

Dyer County job is a good job, as they have a lot of good kids....and their facilities are some of the best in West Tennessee.  With the addition of their new 100 yard turf sports plex, their facilities now rival most of the private schools in Tennessee.

 

Both Dyersburg and Dyer County are blessed with some of the best facilities around.

I know Coach Finley was the DC at Dyer County in the mid 90s before he came to Cheatham. This would have definitely been a job that would have drawn his interest but he just recently accepted the coaching position at Gibson County HS.

This timing seems odd to me too - an odd time for the coach to pick up another good job and begin thinking about moving his family, and a bad time of the year for Dyer Co. to hire a coach.
