WillieTheWildcat
Not sure where our other topic page went but we need a new one.... Kendall Clark has committed to Gardner Webb and I am happy for him but pissed at UT Chattanooga. He would be awesome playing at their level of football. They did just get a new head coach last week so maybe this coach will go find out about Kendall. Any ideas on how to get a coach to look at a player? It is going to be interesting to watch how the team reacts to not having Tee to rely on. WE NEED LINEMEN! If we can find some or some we have get stronger, Jordan Graham and several others will get the job done. Anyone else have thoughts on Wildcat football 2017? LINEMEN...DEFENSE...LINEMEN...LINEMEN...and from what I've seen in middle school and freshmen, they better move in. We are very very SMALL at all levels
DragonVol
i watched 5 or 6 OR games last year and for the first time in a long time they did not control the LOS. Hopefully they hit the weight room hard this offseason and get back to their old ways next year. I love old school smash mouth football. catswild
Amen Dragon! I miss our old smash mouth offenses! Me too BUT...we better either grow some linemen, transfer some in, or find an offense where we just need a couple. I believe we will be outmanned up front at least 7-8 weeks in the regular season with our new schedule. In the playoffs, we will likely be outmanned every week since we're matched with the Chattanooga area. We will still win some games, but LINEMEN are critical for going deep in the playoffs. I hope we have some linemen I don't know about. Edited December 22, 2016 by catswild
DragonVol
It's great to have players like Graham and Higgins, but when you get to the playoffs, OL and DL are extremely important. Look at Alabama. They have some solid skill players, but they dominated everybody up front.

Gaddis has said it plenty of times on the show
DragonVol
As much as I hate to say it, but with the way football has revolved over that last few years with most teams running a spread type offense, I think in some cases it's Better to have quicker and more athletic offensive lineman. If you know you're not going to be big and physical upfront then it may be better for a team like OR to spread it out a little. With that being said, a lot of it depends on the skill level of your QB. Clinton probably ran the right offense that fit their players best, but as you know QB play goes a long way. Gaddis has said it plenty of times on the show I agree, Sweets. It just seems likely me we are at an all time low when it comes to quality linemen. We don't seem to have many. I hope we have several that I don't know about.
