I know the Graves girl is a great player but I'll take Brooks from PC but no sense beating that horse anymore but Brooks is best player in district 12A and I can't think of anyone in region 6 that's any better?

I don't remember anyone arguing that Brooks isn't the best player in the district. Obviously you wasn't happy about her not getting the District MVP. It's done and over. Tonight just proved the point I was trying to make, PC goes as Brooks goes. I said if Loretto doesn't contain her, PC can win, exactly what happened. Wednesday should be a battle, both teams will want to win very bad. Both PC and Summertown both play well at home and going on the road to Forrest or Moore County will be a up hill battle.

I think they can but she's in a zone right now? Split regular season games PC won by 3 at home. Summertown took them to the woodshed at Summertown. PC is playing better now but they probably are too. She will be the most athletic on the floor for sure. I don't think they will stop her but she won't have 39. Hinson, Roberts and Capps will have to step up.

If PC plays like they played against Loretto last night, Summertown will hold them.  PC was up by almost 20 with like 6 minutes left and ends up winning by 3???  How does that happen?!?.  If Loretto had 2 more minutes, they would have won that game and I would have put the blame squarely on the PC coach.  Brooks is an amazing athlete, but the 4 fast breaks when up by 15 in the 4th is a little greedy and probably a bit nuts...especially when the shot is contested and the fast break just become a long turnover.  If Brooks will dial it back a little, let the other 4 players help (and they must), PC has a good shot.  Course, then Summertown has to show up and actually score (Something they like to take breaks from).

She would have been to blame cause lucky for perry co time ran out. I watched Summertown too last night. Couldn't tell by watching who was high scorer for them but I did see a few girls open & the point drove & threw up a shot instead of passing. Guess kind of like the Brooks girl but she wasn't hitting them. On that coach to. Anybody's game come tourney time. Good luck & will find it on the radio tomorrow.

Perry County/Summertown should be a fun game to watch. The Brooks girl from Perry County is fun to watch, has a motor that doesn't stop. Not sure you can guard her 1 on 1. Summertown has shooters all over the floor which makes them tough to guard as well. The 2 eighth graders they are playing are really good players. Not sure who will win but I look forward to watching.

Watchman72 the games are 32 mins long and whoever is ahead wins the game not any longer, so PC won. If you think of reasons then go ahead and blame the Loretto coach for his team falling behind by 17 in the 4th quarter. How about blaming PC coach Edney for having her team playing for the region championship and a sectional berth, oh wait a minute that wouldn't be blaming her it would be giving her credit!!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
