Like I said earlier everyone should have known that Loretto would make a run like all good teams do, they came up a little short. They are a very good and well coached team. PC had just enough to hold them off. Give coach credit she knows her team better than anyone and if she didn't think taking the air out was the right thing to do. A 3 pt win counts as much as a 15 pt win does. They both go in the W column and they're still playing. GO LADY VIKINGS !

Yea, whatever. Go beat your chest elsewhere. Fact is Loretto made a game out of what should have been a blow out. I was pulling for PC because they were the underdogs and didn't care who won (which is generally the case since I like to go to games I have no allegiance to). Yes a win is a win but don't get all butt hurt when stupid moves are called for what they were.

I agree, Perry County had the ball and the lead and kept jacking up shots very late in the game and let Loretto have the opportunities to score (which they did), I couldn't believe their coach was not losing her mind, it almost cost them the game and that would have been her fault.

You are the kind of people that would be saying that she got too conservative too early if she had slowed it down. She knows her team better than either of you and it worked out. Why in the h__l are you talking about something that as you say ALMOST happened? It didn't, they won and she was the WINNING coach. She's taken her teams to sectionals 3 straight years, must be doing something right, ya think?

Any good coach who has the lead with less than 2:00 left in any game, will make the other team defend to the point of fouling to stop the clock or they give up a layup because they start trying to trap. PC played into Lorettos hand by shooting very quick on several of their last possessions, and by missing those shots, enabled Loretto to get the rebound and quickly score or get to the FT line and score, that's why the score got close. The game that Brooks had, which was great, she should have had the ball in her hands until she was fouled and ran off some clock. You also said that PC was not just Brooks.. Again, if you think they have any chance of being in the position that they are without Brooks, you are dead wrong.

I am also the one that said Brooks was the best player in the district in my opinion. I agreed with you that Brooks had to play well for them to win, I was trying to make the point that if teams put too much on stopping Brooks they had others that could score. I think she should have been MVP but Graved is a great player also. I still say Hinson, Roberts and Capps can score but no argument from me that Brooks makes them go.

I think you are a dedicated fan to your team. If mine were still playing I probably would be defending my team. I'm not a fan of talking negative about players regardless of my personal opinion. Coaches are grown & it comes with the job. I thought I would join to keep up better but see so many talking crap about kids. Not saying you are but have seen it on here a lot. They are kids & the disrespect shown to them & others posting on here don't have much respect for others either if somebody disagrees with their "opinion" Rethinking staying on here to read opinions of anonymous people talk crap like what was done to you.. anyway- I just wanted to know what colleges or offers does Brooks have?

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
