Waverly is a very physical team... D- attacks the ball. O - can score on any play...  the play clock will be running the start of the 3 qt  Vers Lewis co.. I'm very proud of our young kids  to hang with a good team like waverly.. if you didn't look at the score board it was a great game to watch.

How do you think the Eagleville- .CA rematch will go?

Waverly is small but plays big and physical. Yea it was a good game. I wish Waverly would come out the gate fast always seems to take a few drives but once they get going there hatd to stop. Defense does attack the ball . Forrest is a good team they will be ready for a run nxt year

Interesting game.

- Waverly's offense is fun to watch. There are so many choices per play, that it's basically impossible to defend. I don't think Forrest had a poor plan, or that the kids played badly. The QB simply can make you pay with the handoff, the pass, keeping it...

- Forrest was very tough and put up 36 earned points. The strip sack that made a 1 score game at halftime was a beautiful defensive gem in an ocean of Waverly TDs

- At stated here all week, Forrest is at least a year away. Friday's effort would have been enough to beat Eagleville, Fayetteville, Watertown, and Columbia Academy.  It's arguable that they could have beaten BGA or Lewis also. I say that to say that Forrest is a different team from season's beginning. Next year they will avenge several of this year's losses. They got better every week. Waverly was just too good.

- Someone mentioned Waverly pulling starters. Forrest starts SEVEN kids who were in MIDDLE SCHOOL 2 years ago. They ARE the backups, but they hung tough, and it WILL pay off.

- Waverly, if there were a defense who could overwhelm them at the LOS before decision making could commence, would be in trouble. I am not sure there are any teams capable of doing that to them in 2A this year.

- Forrest's scoring of more against Waverly than they did against BGA, Fayetteville, Eagleville, Columbia Academy, Watertown, and Lewis, means that Waverly DOES have defensive lapses. It's inarguable.

- Waverly has several very gifted athletes at the skill spots and their line didn't LOOK special but did its job well. They were deceptively effective.

Good luck the rest of the way

Thanks General, Waverly also has a few sophmores starting on defense and most of our offensive playmakers are juniors so I figure we will be seeing ya'll again next year around this time. I haven't heard anything about the player yall had go out of the game ,so I'm hoping hes ok.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
